Padres / Nats honor military tonight

So I'm sure most of you have seen them wear the camoflauge uni's before, but they only do it on Sunday home games. The players actually asked the front office people if they could to honor the military tonight and they said ok.

Also there was this tweet by the Padres. "Padres saying thanks for bin Laden by offering 2 free tickets to today's 7:05 game to all active, retired & veteran military."

Does this deserve its own thread? Probably not. Do any of you care? Probably not. The real question is do I care what you think? I don't.

Baseball's Nationals give free tickets to military

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Washington Nationals are giving away tickets to service members on Military Appreciation Night — an event announced to the public a week ago.

Active or retired military personnel can get up to four free tickets for Monday's game at Nationals Park against the San Francisco Giants.

The Nationals are wearing what they call "patriotic" uniforms — blue jerseys with a stars-and-stripes curly "W" on the chest — for the first time.

The team says planning for Monday's festivities began in the offseason. It's a coincidence the celebration of the military comes the day after President Barack Obama said terrorist leader Osama bin Laden was killed by U.S. forces in Pakistan.

Nationals manager Jim Riggleman says it's "amazing the way the timing worked out."
