I had no idea there were two Joes, but I will say that the Curly Joe era was a low point for the institution.

By the time the two Joe's came along, Moe and Larry were getting fairly old

Yeah, the Stooges weren't big in England (I guess).

I should elaborate that I didn't want it to be a popularity contest, because I think Curly would win in a runaway. I think each stooge captures a little different slice of humanity, and anyone with a sense of humor could identify with one of them. Perhaps, I should have included Benny Hill for Donger.

nyuk, nyuk, nyuk.

(I added the Benny Hill reference without knowledge of the previous two posts, I Swear!)

moe was the brains. curly howard was the best...larry fine, the most talented. shemp, the nicest guy. joe besser was a big pussy who shouldn't ever had made it to be a stooge. refused to take any hits, which put all the shit on poor old larry. curly joe was just kind of there after all the classic stuff was done. he didn't even interested in the 3 stooges.

fuck joe besser...stooge my ass.

I think all were from Burlesque (not sure about Curly Joe DeRita) Each act had something a little different

Early polling shows no Moes!
Interesting, because I think we've got some Moes around here.

Oh and Curly was great, but without Moe's methods of abuse, he wouldn't be nearly as funny. Moe was clearly the best.

I'm not old at all, but I watched some stooges when I was really young. Classic show, dumb humor. Moe all the way.

Can't say I identify with any of them.

I think I identify more with Lou Costello of Abbott and Costello.

Benny Hill may have been responsible for the first exposed titty I saw as a young boy.

It seems like maybe there were two versions of Benny Hill, one PG and the other one R. Because I watched for a quite a while on mainstream TV never actually seeing anything (though almost seeing a lot - quite the tease those women were), and then I innocently watched it on cable during a "free cable weekend" promotion, and all of a sudden there were topless women riding around on motor scooters and running around chasing Benny and all sorts of other stuff. This was back in the 80s, so like you, it may have been my first mammary sightings ever, and it fueled a hobby that I still enjoy today.

Now that I think about it, I bet they were clipping the booby parts on the mainstream TV episodes.

And by the way, I went with Larry because he's the most sensitive and intellectual stooge, and that's kind of how I envision myself. Woowoowoo!
