Seen one ballpark marriage proposal, seen 'em all .. right?
Not quite. Check out what happened at Kauffman Stadium during the game between the Kansas City Royals and Los Angeles Angels on Monday as a serviceman proposed to his girlfriend on the team's super-ginormous scoreboard ... then surprised her with an earlier than expected homecoming right there on the dugout roof.

Something tells me the Royals waived their usual $500 fee and "no custom proposal" rules for this one:

I'm not usually the type to like crazy marriage proposals, but I've got a soft spot for military homecomings. The two in combination is pretty damn sweet.

This. It's not the proposal that makes it "special", it's her shooting across the dugout and jumping onto him.

Yeah that is a really good one. There is no doubt about her feelings. That was awesome.

Not afraid to admit it actually brought a tear to me eye. As the other poster said I have a huge soft spot for the Military and these types of homecomings always choke me up.

I think the rejections are staged. If you're a female in that position, though, and you don't want to accept, please act like you did and then tell him the truth soon after.

This one turned out, great. Good for him.

However, sorry...to the FAILED douchebags who try this hyped marriage proposal stuff...well, they make their own bed: sorry, but it's their own fault. If they are so stupid as to risk a public witnessing of something they are unsure of, themselves....well, they deserve the public humiliation they get.

Just sayin'. Be smart. Don't be a douche. :shake:

I think its also not fair to the girl. I've read about a situation where a couple were going out for a while and the girl was thinking about breaking up when the guy went crazy all-out with a proposal in front of a fountain with surprise appearance from her family. She had to say yes, then finally broke it off deep into the wedding plans when she realized WTH she was doing.

If you want to ask someone to marry you, if you don't know 100%, then you need to give them a chance to say no, or you could pressure her into agreeing to something she didn't want and an ugly breakup later.

Now, if the woman is talking about marriage and starting to give you the "what are we doing?" "What are you waiting for?" hints, then feel free to go sick.

That took an enormous amount of planning to pull off. You've got to get the woman to the stadium, get the video, get the emcee, and then years before that you had to join the army and go overseas for two years to set it up. That's a lot of work.
