I used a Sterno burner under a skillet once.

+1 on the sterno
As a kid I had the little fold up Sterno stove. Would take it fishing with me,along with 2 eggs & some flour, made a kick ass fish lunch very time.
My guess is Stove in a can is a Sterno product.

The winarski stove can be made cheaply & really conserves fuel - important in a lot of 3rd world places where they cut down their trees, burn 'em, and then get pissed off that there's no shade, no trees and everyone is cold & hungry. In short, raiderfans.
