Smokers (of the tabacco variety) - How much do you spend per month on your habit?

Just watched a commercial that stated that the average smoker spends $150 a month on smokes. I don't think I have ever spent more than $15 - $20 in any given month.

Depends on what brand of smokes a person buys. Cigs run from $4 to $6 a pack around here. If you buy them a carton at a time then you can get them for $35 to $50.
Figure a carton a week per person it can get down right expensive.

I only smoke at work where I deal with extremely stupid people for 10 hours per day. I'll have 3-4 cigs a day on days I work.

Its one of those things where you get used to it. When I started smoking I was doing a couple of smokes a day. As I started losing my high I started smoking more until I was up to a pack a day. Will never exceed. I can't see how ppl smoke more than that. They would have to wake up in the middle of the night to do it.

I started w/1 or 2 a day to stay awake studying in college. But I smoked 2 packs a day for a long, long time before I quit. When I did quit, I was paying $3.50/pack, so I allot myself $50/week to spend on guns, whiskey, knives, whatever. That $50 comes 'off the top' before I pay bills, etc...because God knows I always bought cigareets before I paid the bills.
Got some pretty nice whusky, a few dandy rifles and handguns in the 11 years since I quit. It made a handy carrot to dangle in the right direction when I felt like backsliding. And FWIW...I still feel like backsliding when I'm having a bad day. But I want the next rifle or pistol more than I want a Marlboro. Works for me.

I don't smoke, but for a long time I enjoyed scotch so I have quite the collection. That cost me some cash. After I found the one I liked, I set out on another hunt. This time its wine. I probably spend $150 a month on good wine at home.

Don't get me started on going out to eat with clients and drinking good wine. You know its bad when the chef starts comping your table because you downed 3 bottles of wine.

What the hell kind of cigs are you smoking that you get them that cheap?

I am silly and still smoke name-brand cigs (Camel Turkish Royal) and they run a little over $50.00 a carton. I smoke about 12 cigs a day so about 1.8 cartons, $90.00 a month.
