My guess, Gordon has been stroking the ball recently, and they hope that batting him clean up gives him some opportunities to drive in runs.

The flaw in that plan is the fact that no one is getting on base ahead of him.

I think Deetz is right.

When all the young guys come up, Gordon is the best candidate to be the #2 hitter.

Maybe when all the young guys come up, and Butler doesn't feel the pressure to produce so much, then he might well be the ideal #5 hitter, assuming Moose shows some power and can handle the clean up spot.

I really don't think we'll see too many trades. Melky should bring some B level prospect. I doubt Frenchy's going anywhere because

Butler

I'm as hard on Fatass as anyone, but I also think that a big reason he is what I think he is, is that he adds pressure to himself because he is the only consistent bat in the line up.

When and if these young guys that are here, and that are coming up, begin to produce consistently, I think there's a chance that fatass relaxes a little, and becomes more productive in critical situations.

I would not trade him at this point.

I think that Soria is back you try and trade him, honestly...

Also Phillies need a closer and a RH bat, according to the twitter geeks

Dominic Brown....

I still think he was hurt and trying to power through it. He didn't pitch for a week after his demotion and came back as the Soria we all remembered

Depending on the offer, I agree

"I don't think it's absolutely necessary that we get a right-handed bat in order to win the World Series," Amaro said. "To me, I'm more concerned about our pitching than our offense."

Phillies need a reliever....Get Dominic Brown

I think Soria's a slow starter. Didn't he struggle a little early last year too?

Mr. Arrowhead
06-27-2011, 09:13 AM
I think sometimes especially with closer, they just need a break from the pressure situation, and thats what helped soria.
