Growing up I never missed a game. If it wasn't on TV I was outside practicing throwing a tennis ball up against the shed while I listened to the game on the radio.

I remember someone on the Yankees hitting a HR knocking us out of the playoffs one year & I cried like a baby.

We drove from western Kansas to see at least a handful of games every year. Our seats always sucked (couldn't afford good ones) but I always brought my mitt.

And that would still be the case even if they hadn't traded Grienke. Regardless of what might have happened in the late 90s or the first half of the '00s, in recent years Glass has given Moore at least some amount of cash to work with. The problem is more management of that money than it is ownership unwilling to pay, at the moment.

Now, it's not perfect, we can always want more, and the fact remains that they'll never be able to compete as far as total payroll goes with the teams on the coasts regardless of how much Glass decides to spend, but it's better right now than it has been since the early 90s.
