In a sad, devastating personal loss, I just now spilled and irrevocably lost at least 3/4 bottle of wine. Not extremely expensive, but pretty decent compared to everyday table wine.

Disappeared, forever, un-drunk. :deevee:

I'm trying to judge the amount of sympathy to dole out to you. How much do you pay for everyday table wine?

3/4 of a bottle? sir, your reflexes indicate to me that you didnt need another drop.

It's all fucking over now, man.

WHY?!?!?! So many kids could've died in place of this precious wine.

well, table wine prices can vary, but this particular bottle cost me about $28, of which I only had 1/4 bottle :(

You are probably right. The liquid loss involved hilariously alcohol-slowed reflexes.

Yeah, at $28 I'm expecting something pretty tasty. Shame.

The good news is that that 1/4 bottle you drank was the cost equivalent of a $112 bottle of wine, so it must've been fantastic.

That's why I buy it by the box.

Just one more reason, I drink beer most of the time. If something like this were to happen to a beer, you grab another one and you're still up at least $27. :BLVD:

Million dollar drop as wine tumbles

It was certainly an expensive drop - more than $1 million worth of shiraz wine has gone down the drain after it was dropped by a malfunctioning forklift

The 462 cases of 2010 Mollydooker Velvet Glove shiraz - at $185 a bottle - fell more than 6m to the ground as it was being loaded for export from Adelaide to the US.

The drop was so forceful, the bottles punched through the top of the cartons. Winemaker Sparky Marquis said the accident had cost him a third of his annual production.

"We just couldn't believe it," Mr Marquis said.

"This wine is our pride and joy, so to see it accidentally destroyed, and not consumed, has left us all a bit numb."

Mr Marquis now is working with insurance agencies to help recoup the losses.

Its all about principle. You dont spill wine. Or Beer.

And another damn thing. I get so pissed when somebody leaves 1/3 of a can of beer and gets a fresh one cause the one they had wasn't cold anymore. Those are people who deserve pain in their lives. Spillers can be forgiven. Leavers should be held in total contempt.

It was wine. Who cares?

I could understand if it was a bottle of Chimay Grand Reserve you were talking about.

Indeed. What I hate is when I'm cleaning up after a gathering and every fucking can on the table is 1/3 or 1/2 full. It's an abomination.

You were pretty much fucked already when you bought $28 worth of wine. Might as well have purchased Welch's and pissed/shit in it.

IMO, though.
