To be fair, Washington has never, ever, been anywhere close to "just one more player" away under Dan Snyder.

Bucs and Ravens are the only ones that come to mind...That shit was totally by accident, though. Both times.

The Ravens for some odd reason went with Tony Banks and thought he could be their starter, and the Bucs were set to grow behind Shaun King. They both went out, and Dilfer and Brad Johnson ended up playing just well enough to win Super Bowls.

Big difference is that if you have a team that has everything but a QB, then you need a "game manager" to put you over the top if it's going to happen at all. Not a guy with a big arm that can't hit a 7 yard out, or a slant, or a RB in the flats.
