Royals 17 games under .500, next to the worst record in the AL behind Baltimore, who stink on ice. We might lose Bubba Starling. Bruce Chen is starting, who's sucked like a Hoover since the All-Star Break.

But hey, is that a carousel in centerfield? Is that Sluggggr shooting hot dogs out of a cannon? We can run the bases after the game? Cool! Who cares that we're MLB's toilet bowl? At least its a shiny toilet bowl!

Next year we get the All-Star Game, so baseball won't be over in KC until the third week of July. Usually it's over by Mother's Day.

Shouldn't anyway. Not sure if you saw the play where he was injured (trying to get back to first on a pick attempt), but it was pretty innocuous, so Melky likely thinks he can be up to snuff quickly.

I never said I didn't like him.
I'd like him turn about 20 lbs of that beer belly into upper body strength, so he hits fewer warning track outs. If he was a little stronger and quicker, he'd be a young Jim Thome.

I just think he's coasting as a DH. Not playing up to his potential.

We can compete if we get some starting pitching, I agree. Right now I think we have a solid lineup. Not the best but solid. We need people like Moose and Johnny G. to come along and for Hosmer to keep progressing. As far as our outfield goes...WTF would you change that? We are fucking nails defensively in the OF. We have the best SS in baseball, if you ask me, we have a hell of a player at 1st. 2nd, 3rd and catcher have to come along though.

The infield is basically set for a few years & possibly more with Escobar as the old man...the outfield is looking good with some awesome talent waiting to come up.

The starting pitching is a concern but with Duffy learning along with Crow & Holland ready to move from the bullpen to starters next year & Hochevar possible looking like he might have found himself...there is the makings of a decent staff especially if Montgomery is ready next year.

What have you seen that indicates Holland will be tried as a starter? I don't think he has the build or arsenal to be a starter.

I think you start the rotation next season with Hochevar (assuming he finishes the year strong), Duffy, and Paulino and Crow. Let Montgomery fight it out for the fifth spot with a vet or two (Luis Mendoza/FA).

There's a lot of potential there, and the bullpen still is strong, with reinforcements possibly on the way (Herrera and Chapman).
