It contains no real surprises, other than perhaps the Chiefs continue to list Dexter McCluster as a wide receiver when he’s spent most of his time operating out of the backfield.

Thomas Jones is listed as the starter at running back, but keep in mind the Chiefs almost always defer to the veteran in cases like this. Tyler Palko is the number two quarterback instead of Ricky Stanzi but that mirrors how things have gone on their training camp practice field.

Without further ado, here’s the depth chart going two deep:

LG: Ryan Lilja, Darryl Harris
C: Casey Wiegmann, Rodney Hudson

I'm convinced that the Chiefs, with as secretive as they are, don't want to put out their depth chart and thus make a mockery of it.

- The listing of Jamaal as a backup again
- Jerheme Urban as a starter
- Dexter McCluster as a WR when he's lining up as a RB the vast majority of the time

None of these things will happen.

Epic meltdown has already begun.

Notice Powe, Houston, and Baldwin aren't listed? What does that mean, you ask??

Absolutely nothing.

The depth chart that Gretz released has McCluster as a RB. And also has Charles as the 1st string RB.

Why do you say this?

I could easily see JC coming off the bench to start the games like he's done pretty much his entire career.

They put Kelly Greg in the starting spot.

Baldwin probably is not nearly as talented as they thought.

This is just some guy saying who the like the best.

Not official at all.

It's pretty obvious the WR's are going to be:

Bowe, Baldwin, Breaston, Urban, McCluster and Tucker.

I say this because what they're putting out there isn't a realistic picture of the team we're going to see.

JC might not get the start from snap one. But he'll be the feature back and star on this offense. We know that. The opponents know that. So who are they kidding?

I don't think Urban has a chance of starting at all.

And Dexter is a RB and will be used as one.

I simply think the Chiefs essentially make a mockery of the depth chart. So it's of little to no value.

Have you seen Urban at camp? The dude is fast, a great route runner, and sticky hands. All during last season and offseason he has been working with Haley as an assistant coach so to speak. He knows the playbook better than any of our receivers, and Haley is extremly high on the guy.

Personally I wanna see him become our Welker because I think he can be.

I see no problem with the guy starting, until I see him drop balls on the field.

He's definitely white enough to do that.

I wonder if every white WR in the NFL gets tired of being compared to Wes Welker. Ole Wes certainly has taken that belt from Ed McCaffrey hasn't he? ;)

I'm just messing with ya Molitoth. Don't take this personally. I just think that dynamic is funny.

Yeah, it's just like how in the NBA every tall white guy that can shoot is the next Larry Bird.

Urban ahead of Breston makes sense if you consider Urban's been here since Day 1 and Breston has only been here a few days.

Cassel has had more work with Urban so it makes sense that Urban might start the first pre-season game. I seriously doubt it's anything more than that.

Couldn't be much worse than Vrabal was last year. So if he gives us just some pressure on the QB at times, I'll take it.

While I admit it was easy comparing Welker and Urban due to skin color, I think Urban is the slot type to go across the middle and get first downs. I can see him playing a very similar role.

Urban is not a slouch, the guy could easily have some very decent stats this year. Maybe not starting material, but in the preseason he could get enough reps and prove to be a fan favorite

Haley posted this lineup just to come here, lurk, and gave a good laugh.

Players to watch during the preseason:

Asamoah, first time as a starter (should get plenty of reps)
McCluster, rb or wr (all eyes on him this year to make an impact)
Studebaker, could he be a stud? Or just a backup?

All rookies and free agent acquisitions.

Either way I'm pumped for the season to start!!
