They have one of the best WRs in the division and added two very welcome additions. Their defense should be better this year as well.

Football history shows that teams who make big jumps the way the Chiefs did often have a down season the following year. Recent AFCW history shows the Chargers to be inconsistent, but not having back to back single digit wins in a season since 2003. When you add in the much more difficult schedule, it's very possible that the Chiefs could take a big step back in the win column, even if the team is better overall than last season.

That's not excuse making. It's just pointing out the reality of the situation.
