So, I am thinking I need a change of scenery. Perhaps the inside of a shitty motel will help me until I can find a cheap apartment. Any advice?

there is a $179 a week joint in Liberty that is pretty new. Value Inn I think. Right by the highway and lots of restaurants and stuff.

The "Cum and Go" motel???
There's some real cheezy ones just east of LC's BBQ on Blue Parkway. Also on US 40 Highway within a few miles of the stadium.

Bring your own sheets and hand sanitizer.

Call all your interested in & ask to speak to the manager. They all will rent by the week & would rather it be occupied than empty. Pit them against each other for price if your into that kinda thing

Capri Motel off Independence Ave and The Paseo if you want to really experience KC.

OK, I really do need a place to stay. The place in Liberty has some of the worst reviews I have ever read for a fairly new motel. I know that i am not going to find a nice place, but I was hoping for one that wasn't one step above a crack house.

Heh...that would be the "By the Hour and Shower" Motel....

Any of you guys ever stay at the Coral Court in St. Louis before they tore it down?
http://www.coralcourt.com/main.html

It was the classic "No-Tell Motel."

I spent a few nights there during my Mizzou days with some of St. Louis' finest co-eds.
Now that's just a vague smile on my face my wife doesn't understand....

I read their reviews. Damn. I guess when you only charge $179 per week, you are essentially telling everyone that "you get what you pay for"

Let see, I've lived in an 81 Honda Civic hatchback, 85 Monte Carlo and a late 80's Cadillac Devile lol.

The caddy was the most comfy btw.....

So...find a cadillac to live in.

Meh, at least you can go to the library and watch highlights and shit.

When i was a kid I had to wait till Monday and pick up a copy of the San Diego Union Tribune just to see the box scores.

Now I got NFL Sunday Ticket in HD.

Fuck you dad!

CF.....I looked at the reviews and I would be suspect of a couple of them. Look at the time frame as to when they were posted. I don't believe that the Value Place actually existed at the dates those show being posted.

I was just in that area staying with my Mom in Law while I was back attending my Father's funeral and helping with his affairs. I drove by the Value Place in question and it was completely full the whole time. So it must not be that bad. And the location is perfect....near alot of shops, (Target, Wal-Mart, Kohls, Best Buy) and restaurants (way too many to name).

Before you jettison the plan go by there and check it out.

Try Extended StayAmerica 105th & Holmes. Just search "Extended stay Kansas City." Don't know where you're working; good luck.

If I was unattached and drifting like a leaf in the wind I would live in a houseboat. Always thought that'd be cool.

Just go to craigslist and rent out a basement or a room for rent, you'll get much better deals than $600 a month and probably get more amenities. Theres really nothing to be worried about. People for some reason freak out about craigslist sometimes, just meet the owner and get a feel for them. Usually it's pretty easy to see if they are a loon or not.

You can be hit and miss on that one too. Wish I could find the story about the poor guy who rented the basement apartment from an older man. The guy seemed like the harmless type, kept to himself and didn't bother the renter. But imagine the renters surprise when he was sitting in his rented room and the police came and arrested the the old guy for child porn and molesting his own niece.

I have had the opportunity/misfortune to stay in a few KC extended stay type establishments lately. The Crossland in Independence was cheap, but fairly nasty. I'm also fairly convinced there was meth being made in a couple of their rooms. The Candlewood in Overland Park was nice, but work payed for that one and I never even saw the bill. The Homestead downtown near the Plaza was quite nice, but a bit more expensive.

Ohh there are shit ton of those nice type places by KCI if he wants to try there.. I just think it would be cheaper and quicker to use craigslist to rent a room..
