Raiders sign Lito Sheppard

Posted by Michael David Smith on August 26, 2011, 1:01 PM EDT
APLito Sheppard is heading to Oakland.

The Raiders announced today that they’ve signed Sheppard, a nine-year veteran cornerback, and he’ll be on the practice field in Napa today.

Sheppard spent the 2010 season in Minnesota, where he played in 13 games and started two for the Vikings. In 2009 he started nine games for the Jets, and from 2002 to 2008 he played for the Eagles.

The 30-year-old Sheppard worked out for both the Falcons and the Giants this month, but neither team opted to sign him. Now the Raiders will see how much Sheppard has left.

A CB not making the Giants team this year doesn't necessarily reflect poorly on that CB.

If they Giants didn't sign him after working him out and suffering multiple injuries in their secondary, he must really have nothing left.

He stuck a rocket up his ass and ran a sub 4 40. Al didn't know the difference and signed him on the spot.

As injury plagued as the Giants DB's are right now, it kinda does.

Must be nice to be a washed up has been in the NFL knowing the Faiders will take a chance on you. Lito must have taken career advise from Warren Sapp.
