You know, about 3 years ago my companies international firm was looking at me for security in Iraq and Egypt. They needed a manager and I knew a guy...

Right about now I'm wishing I jumped on that. Six-figures for 18 months and a 1 yesr extension option. Lumpy was really pregnant though so I couldn't bail on her.

Man, I would have used that cash to seriously improve my situation.

I've got a good friend here in town who has a nuclear engineering degree (graduated near the top of his class) and did the same thing more than 20 years ago. He lives on his family farm with his mom and two brothers. They run a few head of cattle (nothing much) and have a big garden. One of the brothers works at a factory, but that is the only one of the four that holds an outside job. They have some investment money, but mostly they just live dirt cheap. Not sure how they make it all work, but they do.
