......to Westar Energy in Topeka, Kansas for helping restore power to us after Irene. I haven't had power since 6 AM Sunday, and lost a day of work. We weren't even the hardest hit: up in Greene County there are towns underwater still.

Westar is helping Central Hudson with the monumental task of restoring our power, and thought if anyone here worked for or knows someone who works for Westar, it must be difficult for them to leave their families to come help out.......so THANKS!!!

LOL...thanks. Just turned the A/C on and it's awesome.

What is not so awesome is I drove all the way to Poughkeepsie and bought a generator for 500 bucks, and when we got home we had power. Figures.

They are a "mutual contractor" with my local power co., so I believe that means that we send guys out there when mass outages strike your area, so yeah, I guess. Don't worry though, Central Hudson gets theirs from me..

What kills me is when I open my bill, the "delivery charge" is way more than the usage.

He was never part of Westar. He was with Western Recources.
