he is the only one of the depth ILBs that has speed and experience...sucks, but true.

Micah Johnson ran a 5 flat at the combine, that means teams would target him in the pass game as soon as he stepped on the field.

His chance to make it was special teams and situational work...guess he just couldnt cut it.

I know he has flaws, but I still think he can come in every once in a while to rush the passer if needed. It's a shame we don't have many options at ILB.

This. We might as well go with it and let him round out his game by playing. Everybody can see that he is already ahead of Stude, so lets just do it. DT was pretty one dimensional also, not saying he's that good, but don't let that be the reason he doesn't start.

If that one dimension is pressuring the QB on the opposite side of Tamba, I'm all for it too. Studebaker is a smart guy and has a role on this team imo, but he isn't the type of athlete that is gonna get a lot of sacks/pressures. Houston can. IMO a defense needs at least 2 guys that can get consistent pressure on opposing QBs. With Houston and Hali we might have that. Also having Gilberry and Sheffield to spell them both is a nice luxury. DJ will make some plays rushing the QB as well, but he's so good at stopping the run and pass coverage that we can't rush him all the time.

Tyrone McKenzie is an option to look at for ILB depth. '09 second round pick of the Pats to play inside for them but tore up his knee. Was battling this camp in Tampa for the starting MLB job there. Always tough with knee injuries but this kid can help someone if he is fully healthy.

Studebaker is just a guy.

He gets pushed around and manhandled against the rush, has no pass rush skill, and isn't nearly as good as some seem to think he is in pass coverage.

He's not an upgrade to an old brokedick Mike Vrabel, which is the reason that he couldn't take the job away from him.

Yeah there's really no reason why they shouldn't start Houston this year. If Houston turns out like we all think he will, having DJ, Houston, and Hali will be a really nice group of LBs. I'm really really happy with the young talent we have on defense these days.

We can't really afford to play it safe with our schedule. Getting more of a pass rush is going to be needed. Give our secondary some good pass rush, and it could make things happen for our team. Houston just has so much more upside and I think its worth the risk.

Houston made some nice plays on some runs as well, just not sure about his coverage skills. Not like you have to play one and not the other, hopefully the coaches work it the right way.

I think st. louis' first two drives sealed it, when they ran it on stude's side over and over and it kept working. Also, justin houston's presence on our roster. I'm not sure where else the hate came from, was his play last year that bad when he came in?

Good question, seems everybody loved the guy and wanted him to start over Vrabel. I'm not against Houston or any young player who may be better taking over. I feel the same way about Battle. I like the guy, but if someone, especially someone, younger is better, then more power to them and they should be replaced. Progress.

I feel that way about Cassel too. If Stanzi is better, He should start. I don't think cassel is a bad qb . I don't think what a player gets paid should be the reason they start over a better player. The team has to pay the same money , no matter which players the money is dispersed to.

Gilyard is an interesting cut

I know there was a WR log jam party on the Rams but the kid is only 1 year removed from a draft prospect with potential.

He's got to be better than Urban, Copper, Colbert and the rest of the Scooby Doo gang

Gilyard fumbled a KR and a PR on Thursday. He had trouble learning the playbook last season. He isn't that good.

it does apply though, its not like I am saying he's better than Steve Breaston or Dexter McCluster,

lets be honest those other guys are shit.

Packers waived QB Graham Harrell per rotoworld.

I'd love to add him and cut Palko.

A couple other possible cuts for GB are Even Dietrich-smith, a C-G combo guy. They got another kid in the same role, the one that snapped over Harrells head for the safety, that is a good young player too. Forget his name. McDonald or something? Either would be good to fill the 8th spot on the OL and be the same type of player as Harris only with game experience yet still young.

GB is loaded at TE too. D.J. something a rookie from Arkansas and less likely Tom Crabtree who was a rookie FA with KC in '09 and impressed. They needed TE help bad before the rumor of Moeaki. Michael Mathews and Davon Drew are a couple other TE's.

Leroy Banks was a good looking TE as a receiver but not really very strong. Undersized for a TE. He was in camp last year i believe.

Ingrahm, the talented but often injured from FLA was cut by Philly.

GB's other 3 TE's are Finley, Quarles, who are locks with Crabtree probably the 3rd. DJ williams and Ryan Taylor are the rooks. I don't imagine they would keep all 5 so one of Taylor or Williams would likely be waived. Taylor drew Plenty of interest from KC. He played TE and some FB and LB at UNC. I was expecting them to pick him in the 7th before GB did and KC took Bannon. Taylor would be good in a #3 role and special team contributor but probably not much else.

One of the Tampa TE's looked good against KC this preseason i just don't remember who.

Dante Rosario 6-4/250 26yrs old

Spent 4yrs w/Carolina and cut from Denver. Played under Jeff Davidson as OC in carolina in similar offense to haley and weis. Weis and Davidson coached together in NE.

former NE 3rd rd pick in one of Pioli's last couple years there in Kevin O'Connell. Haven't see it yet but Tom Brandstater will likely come available. Fresno St. and Pat Hill/Bellichic connection who was drafted by McDaniels in Denver. Fits the KC system as does O'Connell. Harrel would be a good get though. They can pick and develop some late rounders up there.

So far, of the cuts I've seen, I am now interested in only 3.

Zane Taylor, Brandon Merriweather and Ed Wang.

He has the skillset to be a good fit for the Chiefs ZBS and could compete with Hudson for the center poistion, and Hudson could eventually play LG if everything else falls into place.
