View Full Version : Chiefs May I Have Everyone's Attention, Please?

I wanted everyone to know that a board member, who is having a few financial issues of his own, was kind enough (and that's putting it mildly) to send my wife to her first Chiefs game EVER this weekend (I get to go too!) by giving us tickets he was trying to sell.

I present to you, The Bad Guy. He's actually quite the opposite of a bad guy.

You see, my wife was hit with a sudden adult onset of seizures, shortly after we were married a few years ago. This ended her nusring career and turned us into a one income family. Every year she tells me how bad she would like to go to a Chiefs game, just once in her life, (Bucket List) and each year I have to disappoint her and remind her that I can't afford it.

Enter, The Bad Guy.

This gentleman, while trying to afford a housing issue of his own and having to cancel his trip to Missouri for the home opener because of it, after he had already purchased game tickets, no less, just gave us tickets to the home opener, out of his own pocket. My wife was damn near in tears.

The Bad Guy relayed to me a story of someone giving him tickets 12 years ago to his first game and he was simply "Paying It Forward."

I have no way to pay the man back at present, so, I'm turning to my fellow Planet Members to help me out. He still has a pair of tickets for sale. http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=249538

If ANYONE on the board needs 2 tickets for this special home opener, or knows anyone that needs tickets, PLEASE direct them to the thread above.

I could sit here and sing his praises from the mountain top and tell you what a wonderful human being he is but that is already evident from his act of kindness.

Help me out, Planet Members. Help him out. He deserves it.

Thank you very much.

Epilepsy is a very serious condition. my wife has had seizures in the past and they are not fun. She hasnt had one in a few years but its still something we keep in the back of our minds

I took my wife to her first chiefs game back in 2005 I think when we played the raiders on christmas day I made arraingments for the kids and surprised her the night before with the tickets but then she had a seizure that night (staying up late seems to trigger something for her and its my families tradition to stay up and open presents at midnight) she didnt get to enjoy it as much as she would had but damned if I was going to let those wine and cheese tickets go to waste

Its a shame I dont live in KC anymore otherwise id buy those other tickets and come tailgate with you and the rest of my CP family and its because of actions like the bad guys I will always consider all of you family.

I had the pleasure of meeting The Bad Guy at the home opener with San Diego about 7 or 8 years ago. Ringleader was handing out a set of tickets. and managed to nab one of them, while Ring took one and TBG and his lady friend ( I believe she is the present Mrs TBG) got the other 2.

I can tell you that they were both 2 of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet. They didn't know me from anyone, but treated me like an old friend. It was so great sitting there and watching the game, discussing (and cussing) the game. I came to respect his opinion on football after that day...guy knew his stuff even back then...and had good taste in ladies. (He definitely married up)

Am I surprised at this.. No

But still this is a very classy act and I wouldn't want to pass up the opportunity to give him a big pat on the back.

Well done Bad Guy.

If not for previous commitments for this weekend, I'd be all over those 104 seats. Sat in them in the playoffs last year and they're excellent seats. If they're available again, I do hope he'll let me know as I'd like to take Brideowanian to a game this year and they're great seats.

You let me know a game. Packers/Steelers/Vikings/Chargers are sold, but Dolphins/Broncos/Raiders remain.

I think you actually sat in an extra set I had for the playoff game. These are on about the 20 yard line but you are completely under cover. They are great seats.
