View Full Version : Chiefs Dorsey was a good pick and has been a fine player

And again after that Buffalo game, I see people saying Dorsey has not lived up to expectations.

2010: Berry
2009: Mark Sanchez
2008: ... Dorsey
2007: Levi Brown
2006: A.J. Hawk
2005: Cadillac Williams
2004: Sean Taylor
2003: Terence Newman
2002: Quentin Jammer

Why do people always think a top 5 pick should always become an all-pro player?

I see people continually criticizing Dorsey for not being worth his draft slot. When you look at this list can you really tell me you are disappointed with Dorsey?

cherry picking, how does it work

He had a poor game last Sunday. Three tackles, no sacks, got ran over repeatedly.
Of course, the rest of the defense sucked eggs too, so....

Sean Taylor's not worth his draft slot because he's dead?

Fuck you.

For once it would be nice if KC could get the Ngata, Suh, Raji, Seymour, etc., of the DL and not a guy who is merely "good".

Sean Taylor would be an elite Safety at this point in his career.

I know it seems a tad grisly and, perhaps even, tasteless and slightly gruesome ... but, I think a dead guy could have covered the Bills TEs last Sunday just as well as our guys did.

He listed all the players drafted in pick number 5. 2001 was Tomlinson.

But yes, he indirectly made a good point. all players drafted in pick#5 are nearly all pro's or all stars, so your player in that spot hasnt lived up to expectations being the #5 pick, compared to the others before and after him.

Agreed. At least Chandler would have had to step over somebody to score....

I'm not sure if you're serious but I thought it was obvious I listed the last 5th overall picks to show Dorsey is not any worse than the average 5th overall pick has been over the years and thus fans should stop mentionning the fact Dorsey hasn't lived up to expectations.

I like the guy, don't get me wrong. I really like Dorsey. But there's no comparison between him and Sean Taylor

Dorsey isn't awful but isn't producing like many thought he would coming out.

The main thing right now is that he isn't dead.

Dorsey isn't awful but isn't producing like many thought he would coming out.

Lets see it might because he is playing a totally different position than the one he was drafted for.

Funny you should mention that.

I just had one of our salesman in my office telling me that the Bill's QB was ranked #1 in the NFL this past weekend, wanting to know if he was really that good.

Uh, no. :cuss:

To be fair, dying probably qualifies as not living up to your potential.

Dorsey at his best is a solid one-dimensional player. At his worst he's a completely useless 300lb turd.

In short, he's a bust. But don't tell ChiefsPlanet.

I don't expect a #5 pick to get in the HOF, but it would be nice if they did. I would expect a #5 pick to be at a Pro-Bowl level or on that scale. Of the 4 top ten picks I can think of off the top of my head from the last decade, we've had one reach that level and he was injured after his rookie year.

After 3 years of playing in the 3-4 people still question Dorsey's production LMAO

Familiarize yourselves with the roll of our defensive line people!

Yeah the guy finished 5th in DL tackles last year, and he might be a reason why Hali could get 14.5 sacks yet so many fans think he's bad.

I've come to understand many fans think it's all about sacks but that is wrong.

Flowers is a better player than Hali yet because of the 14.5 sacks, many people think Hali is the clear cut better of the two. Look at this play of the Chiefs-Bills game, I practically never see Flowers look that bad: http://www.youtube.com/user/APVideoBreakdown#p/u/1/3SQejCoXIsg

I don't want to knock Hali, just saying fans think it's all about sacks which is not the case.
