View Full Version : Life What does a bruised bone feel like?

I was working on our POS drill and bashed my finger into the row unit between the first and second knuckle. I don't think it is broken as it isn't very swollen, but it hurts like hell. Doesn't feel like scraped skin or contusion pain, and it isn't in the joint. Only thing I can think of is a bruised bone.

Should I be worried?

Pain is better today, but still hurts quite a bit. I'll take improvement though.

Doesn't hurt. The pain is isolated to the top of the finger. Wrist too, but I'm pretty sure that is a separate issue.

If it isn't swollen and it isn't mis shapen, then it is probably soft tissue and you should just splint it so you don't jack it up more. Even if it is broken, it would most likely only require splinting unless it was an offset type fracture in which case you would know it. You could just Ronnie Lott it and get back in the game

Why don't those guys fix their damn fingers? Maybe I'm assuming too much but can't that be surgically repaired to be straight?

If it were broken(or a bad jam) it would likely hurt like hell to tap the end of your finger. It sounds to me like you've got what my dad always referred to as a "hurts donit"
