View Full Version : Chiefs Pete Prisco Calls Pioli a fool for trading for Mr. Lolipop Arm

ryan: I joked with Brinson after the Chiefs' Week 1 loss to the Bills that Todd Haley wouldn't last until Halloween. Now I think he'd be lucky to make it to the end of October. Any chance he's canned in the coming weeks?

Prisco: If they get blown out, maybe. Pioli and Haley aren't' exactly eating dinner together. Put some blame on Pioli here. He's the fool who traded and paid for Cassel. -- Mr. Lolipop Arm

I don't think it's Cassel's arm that sucks, it is his pocket presence. He can't stay calm and make quick decisions.

Cassel's arm sucks, his accuracy sucks, his awareness sucks, and he doesn't seem like a great leader on offense.

Not a crappy arm? His longest completion last week was the play where Bowe backtracked and the DB had no idea the ball would be thrown that frickin' short. Sorry, crappy arm to match crapping his pants.

Has the KC media this week asked Cassel if he understands the purpose of the hail mary play?

They did. He told them he was raised Baptist.

So Pioli failed...

Can we find a GM that hasnt ever failed on a pic or trade? (excluding the perfect message board GMs on CP).

Two years ago, when Pioli made the trade, it was looked upon by the media as a great move

It was only some of us here that bemoaned and lamented the trade.

How things have changed.

its the nature of the business and internet now...

The only news we really care to read on the Chiefs is negative. Otherwise they are just fluff pieces...

BTW, I could of kicked puppies and kittens the day we traded for Cassel...

If I remember correctly, there were murmurs of an investigation to the trade because KC looked to come out so much ahead. It was a "favor" done by the Pats.

I don't know how you do that single post thing, but here was my first reaction to the trade.

This was a part of the reason I wasn't thrilled with hiring Scott Pioli like most here.

**** you Scott Pioli.

Yep and it set off a whole lot of trouble in Denver because Josh McDaniels was also interested in Cassel with Cutler under contract. We all know how that whome mess played out... LMAO

Fair point. Nobody bats 1000.

Here's the thing though. You can't miss on the biggest issues.

QB? Whiff.
3rd overall pick. Tyson Jackson. Whiff.

If he missed on a 5th rounder, nobody would care. These are the key building blocks to any team. Top picks & QB.

Scotts getting paid bigboy $$ in a bigboy position. Got to perform.

It's not that simple. At the time of the trade, I was supportive, because I assumed Pioli was astute and had better information that others given that he was around Cassel for 4 years or so. I said at the time what a huge gamble he was taking because he'd look like a fool if Cassel was a bust, and I gave him the benefit of the doubt, deferred to his inside information.

Well, now, it certainly does appear Cassel is a bust, and it suggests Pioli is not all we hoped for. He made the big gamble, and lost. How can his reputation not be severely tarnished?

If Pioli wants to stay away from a Carl image he needs to admit this was a mistake and cut ties. After that he needs to make the right decision on the next QB. Thats where his status as a good enough GM will be made in my eyes.

I haven't given up on him or Haley, but maybe I wanted it to work too much when they got here and am just holding out hope.

If Pioli was so great and has the connection with the Patriarts, why couldn't he make a deal to bring Ryan mallett here? Send them a 2nd & they can have Cassel back.

I know this would be way too much to ask from the Pats tho & they would just decline with respect to Pioli for the offer in a Kiss my ass kind of way.
