Last week I decided not to spend money at a sports bar drinking away my sorrows so I watched the local game on mute and listened to the Chiefs on the radio...
First time in a long, long, long time I didn't go watch the game somewhere or at least find a stream...
Probably the most enjoyable game of the year for me...if they don't want to try, then I don't need to go out of my way to be a god damn stimulus plan for the local bars who get $200 out of me every Sunday to watch my team lose by 45 to the GD Lions...

well I've been around a lot more the last two weeks because I just moved and I don't start my job until Monday (can't wait)
the last two weeks without a job have been boring and very expensive
but I came to Dallas with no apartment and no job and fixed both problems in two weeks so I'm pretty proud of myself

I'm sure he has "restaurant management" experience so it just strikes me as a classic case of "need a job quickly" which doesn't generally mean a 5 star kinda gig.
If he went to Hamburger College (real) and has "managment experience" I'm sure a needy McD's... maybe even one with a playplace... would hire someone pretty quickly who basically just blew into town.

it's a big chain restaurant, but that's as far as I'm going to go...
and I don't give a shit what anyone thinks, the GM sold me on the interview and I feel like there is a lot of room for growth in this company
some people like IT work, some people like office work, some people like being mailmen, some people like digging ditches...I like working in restaurants...and I didn't like college enough to be a lawyer.
Right now I'm perfectly happy. Out of Champaign and done with the campus lifestyle/poor influences...in with the big city, nice apartment, and constant "action" around...I've been to two Rangers games, one Astros game, I saw Mike and Mike live the other day at Draft Picks Bar and Grill...
I love the big city and I love the decision I made to move on a whim, and it has totally, 100% worked out for me (so far)...hopefully I like this job as much as I think I will. But we'll see. The one thing I figured out is I applied to 10 places and got 5 phone calls in 3 days...so there seems to be plenty of jobs out there for me.

it's a big chain restaurant, but that's as far as I'm going to go...
and I don't give a shit what anyone thinks, the GM sold me on the interview and I feel like there is a lot of room for growth in this company
some people like IT work, some people like office work, some people like being mailmen, some people like digging ditches...I like working in restaurants...and I didn't like college enough to be a lawyer.
Right now I'm perfectly happy. Out of Champaign and done with the campus lifestyle/poor influences...in with the big city, nice apartment, and constant "action" around...I've been to two Rangers games, one Astros game, I saw Mike and Mike live the other day at Draft Picks Bar and Grill...
I love the big city and I love the decision I made to move on a whim, and it has totally, 100% worked out for me (so far)...hopefully I like this job as much as I think I will. But we'll see. The one thing I figured out is I applied to 10 places and got 5 phone calls in 3 days...so there seems to be plenty of jobs out there for me.
Good for you. Seriously. I have a friend who is a bartender. While he doesn't drink much, you kind of remind me of him. Wish I had the guts to up and move like that. If you're happy that's all that matters.
