We eat at First Watch a lot because my in-laws like it. It's good, but I think it's a chain. I also seriously doubt it's the best breakfast in KC.

Simply Breakfast down by the Plaza is pretty damn good. The biscuits are fucking amazing. The cost is easy on the wallet too...

This place is close to where I live, and they've had the best breakfast I've ever paid for.

The nice thing is they'll still serve breakfast items all day and evening, too.

Great food for breakfast or any other meal.

I really liked Mama's when they were in their old location. They moved to a new place, went through a total loss fire and then trimmed down their menu (they used to have 66 omelette varieties on the menu). I haven't been back since all that happened.

Sorry for the FB link, it was all I could find.

Santa Fe Cafe is awesome.

I checked that, because I'm a fan of Santa Fe style breakfasts (green/red chile for the win!). It doesn't look like they're actually imitating New Mexican style breakfasts, though, from the menu.

Still looks good, though.

Santa Fe Cafe is awesome.

Second this, when I saw this thread I was trying to remember the name of that place. I only ate there once a couple years ago but it was top notch.

- Mama's (already mentioned, they've been featured on Food Network)
- City Diner (down in the River Market: old school diner, cash only)
- Eggtc. (on Main St. just S. of the Plaza next to Minsky's, another great place to go, try the Cheeseburger Pizza)

Damn it I'm hungry now!

We used to cut school to go there when they had 50 cent biscuits and gravy. I miss that place. I thought there was only one in Riverside. It used to be a little shack. Best breakfast Ever!

The Embassay Suites over on 435 in Overland Park has damn good breakfest. All you can eat too.

It's at my house. I'm the omlet king. Don't like omlets? I'll whip up a down-home hash that will make you slap your mother. Still not your thing? How about some biscuits and gravy? But what I mean by gravy is big chunks of delicious spicy sausage coated in gravy. Biscuits and gravy need sausage chunks or it's just not right.

Let's hear how you do your scrambled eggs.

Waffle House baby. Double Hash browns "all the way" with 2 fried eggs on top. That's hashbrowns with jalapenos, onions, cheese, salsa, chili, mushrooms, all topped with two fried eggs.
If you don't want to have a heart attack, Corner Cafe is a great choice. There is one in Liberty and Parkville

I don't do the omelet thing very often, but I make a mean scrambled egg dish. I start with butter in the skillet. Then saute onions, red and green peppers, and shitake mushrooms. then add the sausage chunks, and cook until they sort of get crispy. Finally, add the eggs and scramble it all together. Mama mia!

I used to really like Mom's Cafe on Sante Fe in Olathe (a few blocks east of what now passes for Olathe's downtown) but it's gone downhill in the last 2 years w/newish ownership. Gotta go w/Dagwood's on SW Blvd instead, as mentioned above. And the Village Inn in Mission.

Argosy Casino's Brunch. It's about $20 per but wide selection, omelettes to order and it's all you care to eat.

They used to make their own breakfast sausage. The sausage, egg and cheese sammich was to kill for.

I had Big Biscuit in Shawnee recently, it was pretty damn good. We had to wait like 45 minutes though, so we might avoid the Sunday morning crowds from now on, but we will be going back.

I went back to RJs BBQ last week for their “famous” breakfast – mixed up the Q with breakfast and got brisket sandwich and biscuits and gravy. The sandwich was awful – the meat was fatty and tough, and looked like beef tongue or something. The B&G were good, but nothing to write home about. Their bacon must be cooked on the smoker because it has a dark color I’ve never seen before. That’s probably the last time I will go – I cannot drive that far to a place with such bad BBQ and average breakfast.

If you're ever in the San Diego area, try out Konos - easily the best breakfast I've ever had. Not too pricey, either.
