This guy deserves a ton of credit. Great hands. Great YAC. Smart player. Get's open, and plays like he's 6'4 when he's only 5'11.

This is why everyone wanted him in FA this year. He is living up to his billing unlike some of our other FA pickups.

He does indeed seem to be a good pickup for us. He made a play for a first down today, dodging a tackler on the catch, that was pretty darn impressive.
I was hoping that Todd would let him score a touchdown against that draft bust sissy Mike Mitchell at the end of the game, just to teach the bust a lesson.

Having Breaston signed to a long term contract makes me very happy.

He kind of reminds me of D. Alexander...

Flex start in the future now that Cassel is warming up to him but it is still Cassel throwing to him:rolleyes:

The play where Cassel threw it to him for like 4 yards on an in route, on 3rd and 10 was ridiculous. I had already let out a GOD DAMNIT, when the ball was released. But he made the best of it

Details Of Steve Breaston's Deal With The Chiefs
by Joel Thorman on Aug 4, 2011 9:42 AM CDT in NFL Free Agency 2011
The Kansas City Chiefs locked up WR Steve Breaston to a five-year worth up to $25 million in the 2011 NFL free agency period.
Now we have some details of his contract.
We're told Breaston received $5 million to sign and a $700,000 base salary in 2011. His $1.8 million base salary in 2012 is guaranteed for injury only and he has a $1.3 million roster bonus in 2012. It appears the Chiefs could get out of this after one year and less than $6 million but I can't envision a scenario with that happening.
In 2013, his base salary is $3.8 million, in 2014 it's $3 million and in 2015 it's $4.1 million. He has $200,000 workout bonuses from 2012-2015 and $1 million reporting bonuses in 2014 and 2015. He has another $500,000 in escalators available each year from 2012-2015.
All in all, it looks like a good deal for both sides. Breaston gets the long-term security he was looking for and the Chiefs get the third receiver they were looking for.
Now that haley is gone do you think the chiefs make a move?

If they cut him, they're idiots. He, Bowe, and Baldwin will make a fierce three receiver set once we get a real QB and offense in here.

What's with Pioli and getting this 1 year guys? I think Breaston will be here longer but JFC seems like everyother FA he's signed has been productive for 1 year and thats it.

Yeah ... Priest surprised the heck out of Gramps.
I don't think he expected quite that much out of the guy.

He's a great free agent pick-up. Most don't make that much of an impact in FA, without breaking the bank. It's about time.

Best pickup of the offseason.
Then again, we brought in like...3 people.
Still, great pickup and someone to build on going forward with the emergence of Baldwin and the resigning of Bowe (please).
