You're so good at fantasy football that NFL owners start taking notice. You're a hot GM candidate, and you get offered two jobs on the same day.

Job A is with a team that has a young QB who's generally considered the second-best QB in the league. The rest of the starters are guys who range from the bottom 5 percent of their positions to average. The median is guys at the 30th percentile of the league at their positions.

Job B is with a team that has a lot of good players other than QB. The non-QB players range from the 50th percentile to the 95th percentile for their positions, and the median is guys at the 75th percentile (i.e., better than 3/4ths of league starters). Their ages run the gamut from 3 years in the league to 12 years in the league, with the median being 6 years. The QB is in his 6th year and is generally ranked as the 24th to 29th-best QB in the league.

Both teams are located in cities with open-air stadiums with good barbecue, a solid fan base, and an owner who is relatively hands off, being more interested in his world-class collection of early Korean porcelain vases. The cheerleaders for both teams are above average and wear really eye-opening costumes on the Halloween games, and the previous GM was unpopular due to his hard-core negotiating stance with popular players. (Many observers attribute this to his dislike of popular players after having been bullied by the school's star quarterback when he was in junior high.)

Take Job A, hire Cowher, draft OL and Defense...

Job A

finding O-line, WRs, Rbs, and D players is easier than finding the 2nd best QB in the league who is also young.

Take Job B and find a QB. Instant success, large paycheck incoming, thanks more to the people who built the team for me. Peyton has 1 ring, where do you put him on the list of QB's? 1-2 for most of his career. Maybe 3rd now, behind Brady and Rodgers. Roethlisberger, who isn't a top 5 QB, has 2 rings because he has a much better overall team.
