Finding a great coach is a tough thing. Some have great track records, some have baggage, some can't coach. They all fail at some point.

What's really crazy is that I went to Baker University out of high school. A couple years later there was a good coach at Baker that went through the ranks and is now head coach for the GB Packers. You win some, you lose some.

I said immediately that Gill was a bad hire and after his first season I wanted him fired and was called a moron for that. Now it's time for some payback.

From the Gill hired thread, lots of LULZ

Yeah, I think this will be a good hire if it turns out to be true. He'll have access to more talent than he ever did in Buffalo, and I like that he has some Big XII connections already. He's still a fairly young guy and will be a nice change in approach from Manscreamo. (HAHA GET IT?)

I think its a pretty nice hire.

Dave Lane knew his shit

God god. Has it come to this???

I thought KU could pick up a coach that had a SHOT at being good. Welcome to loserville. Hopefully we can have him out the door in a couple of years and get a coach with a good track record instead of absolute crap.

I'm assuming that we're to take this post at face value since Pinkel has established a very solid program at Mizzou.

I hear Urban Meyer is having second thoughts on the tOSU job now.....

Pretty funny that ku's rivals site lists a former Mizzou coordinator as a top candidate. If you can't beat em, join em I guess. LOL

Pretty sure KU has higher aspirations then winning...... well, nothing

I know you're not that bright I'll explain my post to you. All of those schools I mentioned are basketball schools. This thread is about football. I know it's in your nature to bring up basketball in every conversation, but sometimes you have to focus and think outside of the box.

oh, no.... I'm including football in there too.

Like I said, mu could only dream of accomplishing what those schools have athletically.

Right. Maybe next year, you can win a game in conference. Its not much, but its better than nothing which is what you won this year.

Wow. 90% of the posters in this thread are cocksu ckers from other conferences.

Go hang with your people, whereever they are.

However most of the posters in here both live in Kansas and never went to mu.

I'm sure that is true, but unfortunately no one except ku fans think they have the potential for a consistently winning program. Ku will be the worst opening available this offseason, which is scary considering that Turner Gill was your best option two years ago.

Consistently winning regular season games and then getting exposed in the postseason like missouri?

Is that what you mean by consistent?

If that's the case then no, I'll take horrible seasons with huge bowl wins here and there... trust me, it's worth the wait. Maybe you'll see one day.

When were your here and there big bowl wins? You've made back to back bowl games only once in your program's entire history.

Ku is a putrid football program that no one respectable would take. Your last two coaches were a morbidly obese walking embarrassment and a semi-functioning retard, and those were literally your best options.

The biggest obstacle for KU in getting a good coaching candidate is Bill Self and compnay. What good football coach is going to pick KU over the other college openings, come to Lawrence, and play second fiddle?

You win as a football program and you will get attention.

Ah yes, we all know how ku fans are such sticklers for following the rules over winning.

It is why your fans don't count the 1988 title, right? You were placed on postseason probation the next year for major recruiting violations.

It is also why everyone must hate Self and Mangino due to the rampant cheating and eventual Lack of Institutional Control ruling that put the athletic department on probation.

Screw winning - ku plays by the book.
