I like to put on a few nice juke moves until she can't take it anymore and stiff arms me away from the poosay then she lays there and sweats and breaths heavy for a while. Then I know I've done my job with the tongue and I give her a little time before the real show. It works. If you can make her give you the stiff arm you're golden.

Look at the downfield blocking on all of those runbacks. Dante was great, but those returns had as much to do with the blocking as they did his agility. He had a convoy escort him to the endzone damn near every time! Miss those days...

If I remember correctly Blaylock was #23 and he was the guy right in front of Dante on kick returns (I think they call that the upback? Idk).

This has me reminiscing now. You guys remember when we put up 56 on the Falcons? 8 rushing TDs, 4 from Priest and 4 from Blaylock. Seemed like we could throw anyone at any position and still drop a 40 burger every week. Man, those were the days!

I credit Blaylock with at least 50% of Dante's success as a returner. Dante talked about it one time and how he just followed Blaylock's lead who was responsible for reading the field and the blocking ... how it was setting up and all.

As for the offense, I wrote an extremely thoughtful and intelligent post at the time about how we would miss those days. What we witnessed back then was a once-in-a-generation offense, really. The line, the run game, our Kidney, the TE. We even had one pretty decent receiver back then. And, of course, Trent Green will go down in history as the greatest blocking quarterback of all times.

We were virtually unstoppable inside the 30. The stretch play those guys ran was a thing of awesome beauty.

On the one against the Broncos though, there were at least a couple blatant blocks in the back that weren't called.

Still some amazing jukes during that run.

One ref admitted at the time that they would be watching him run (he really was amazing) and miss illegal blocks in the back.

If it wasnt called it didnt happen. If you are a human highlight film and you can get the refs to watch you instead of the other players you get away with it as a team. X was just that.

It's stuff like that why I voted jukes. If they're good enough, they make you laugh as this was here. Just sick.

Plus I think there are a lot more guys who can stiff arm than put a good juke on.

Stiff Arms. or the sort-of-stiff arms that look like a 'Get OFF ME Fool'! type of thing, where they sort of throw defenders to the ground.

Marshall Faulk, king of the spin move. I watch this every time I want to get excited about football again.

The shit he pulls off from 1:55 to 1:25 is purely sick.

The king of THAT has to go to Marshawn. Threw that defender at 0:11 into next week./

Jukes by a mile.

Stiff arms are kind of unfair in my opinion, because if a defensive player can't hit an offensive player in the face, why is the reverse true? A stiff arm is taking advantage of a rules imbalance.

A juke, on the other hand, is a work of art. It's a statement that you're on the field and I'm on the field, and I'm going to get by you without being touched. That's a beautiful thing.

In the olden days, Walter Payton made some pretty good stiff arms as well.

But Lynch's is probably the all-time winner.

yeah, I'm sure there are a ton of good ones. Those two I mentioend were just the ones that stuck out the most to me; probably because they're the most recent I remember.

That Lynch run was so great due to the circumstances in that game. Come to think of it, wasn't Hearsts run the final play of regulation; or in OT (can't remember).

love me a good stiff arm (NTTAWWT)

Gotta agree in principle. Stiff arms say "I'm strong and I have leverage at the moment" jukes say "you can't touch me, you're not fast enough or agile enough."

I don't like stiff arms because most running backs since Emmit add in the illegal facemask which is never called.

Jukes are just a thing of beauty. I love watching LeSean McCoy. His jukes are just out of this world. Stiff arms are nice, but they just don't take that much talent, just leverage and a little bit of strength. You need talent to juke fools out of their jocks.

was that the one in Denver in 2002 when he juked like 3 people on a side catch and ran it something like 60 yds for the score? that was so ridiculous, i was going to vote stiff arms until you mentioned that.

In an ESPN special about the "X-Factor", he called Blaylock his "eyes". Had him in on the promo piece and everything. I thought that was pretty cool since I'm sure ESPN was really only interested in Dante.

As to the OP, I prefer jukes because stiff arms usually end in a tackle or soon thereafter. Seems to me that most huge plays start with a juke, not a stiffarm. Also, from a practical standpoint, jukes mean less contact which is better for the durability of the runner. (Assuming they don't Eric Berry their knee.)

I agree with you, in theory.. but some stiff arms can get the same reaction out of me.

I literally screamed when I saw this one because it was absolutely terrifying.

Stiff-arms to the body are fine, but stiff-arms to the face should be called just what they are, a face-mask. If nothing else, it's a blow to the head. Do the same thing to a QB and laundry flies.... In fact, there was a stiff-arm facemask called in a college game, and it was the right call. Plus, a juke is simply more athletic, and funny when you see a defender left standing flat-footed..

Love the stiff arm. Jamal Anderson is who I think of when someone says stiff arm. That guy punished people.
