Someone just said on the radio, if the Chiefs win this weekend and the Donks and Faid lose, the Chiefs control their own desitny due to tiebreakers.

Is this true?

If it is and it were to occur, I think you could kiss the idea of the Chiefs ridding themselves of Haley goodbye.

So it is possible?

I don't think Haley is getting fired regardless.

Had someone told this board before the season, you will be without Berry, Charles, Moeaki, and Cassel for either the whole year or a good part of the year, and you will still win the division.

Things have played out a little different when it comes to playing certain teams so I'd be a little cautious when I started claiming for Haley to be back.

If the Chiefs (5-7) win out bringing them to 9-7 and the Raiders and Broncos both split their next four games leaving them both at 9-7 the Chiefs would have the head-to-head tiebreaker with both wins over the Raiders. Since KC and Denver would split, Chiefs would have the division record tie-breaker of the Broncos with a 4-2 vs 3-3 in AFC West.

Now back to reality...sort of. Assuming KC wins tomorrow but loses to Green Bay, and assuming Denver loses to New England and the Raiders lose to Green Bay: KC would have to beat both Denver and Oakland AND a Dever loss to Chicago or Buffalo AND a Raider loss to Detroit or SanDiego. That would put all three teams at 8-8 with the same tie-breakers and the Chiefs losing in the first round of the playoffs.

So the Chiefs could still lose to the Pack and make the playoffs.

I could see the Raiders losing to the Pack and SD or Detroit.

The Broncos could lose to NE, but I don't see another loss in there.

I think the most likely scenario is that the Chiefs could stop the run and win at NY, play out of their minds and generate just enough offense to win at home against Green Bay, keep the ball rolling at home and slam the door on the Raiders season, then go lay a great big steaming turd and get blown out at Denver.

Dunno if that's the most likely but....

It could happen. It's not like we are blowing anybody out. The only game we dominated from start to finish was the Chiefs game and the biggest lead we had in that game was 10 points.

I will be extremely disappointed though if we lose to the Bears with them not having both Cutler and Forte.

I wouldn't say you dominated the Chiefs, but ....

Ok well maybe you did dominate the Chiefs.

I so look forward to getting into the playoffs with an 8-8 record and getting ass raped in the playoffs.

O.city

Yeah more than likely that would be the case.

Say we won the west at 8 and 8, who would we likely draw?

Steelers or Jets?

We were dominating until McGahee and Knowshon had to leave the game. After that we were just maintaining a lead.

Didn't they leave the game pretty early?

It would be pretty cool if it came down to the Chiefs and Broncos winner take all that last week.

I think they both were out for the game after the end of the first drive. That game was the only game this season where we started off strong and never trailed.

If the Chiefs were to go 8-8 and make the playoffs, yet another drawback to the fact that we would get beat in the first round would be that Cassel would likely be brought back.

this would require a Chiefs team led by Tyler Palko to run the table the rest of the season pretty much with the accepted fate that GB turds on us.

That's just too hard to buy into because Palko is awful

I'd say there is a better chance that we could go 8 and 8 and back into a title. I just don't see the Broncos losing 3 more games.

The Broncos, with TeBow, have the perfect recipe for regular season success.

Run the ball, move the chains, control the clock, play defense.

Of course, when they meet a real team with a real QB in the playoffs, they'll get bounced.

It's TeBowed Martyocrity.

It will be interesting to see them play the Pats next weekend.

This team has no business thinking about the playoffs.....they won't win out anyway....we have NO offense!!!
