Wow, surprising given that the Dolphins have played hard lately and won a fair few games over the second half of the season. I expected the axe to fall on him after the season, not during.

Yeah, if he wasn't fired during the losing streak, I figured he wouldn't be fired since they've turned things around (which appears to have been at least in part because he radically changed his routines and approach).

Given the timing I think they are definitely trying to beat us to the punch on hiring the best available coach out there.

I think they will make a huge push for Cowher or Fisher.

I still think Miami is going to end up with Manning. Stephen Ross is Mr. Celebrity as an owner. They got a decent OL and Brandon Marshall is a pretty good target.

King Carl drafting a QB? Carl/Cowher aren't getting any younger I see them making a move for Manning.

Meh. Peterson is a pretty good football business guy. Trouble was he stayed too long in Kansas City. If he left around 1998 or 2000, he would be looked at alot different here.

Cowher makes the most sense for Miami. 3-4 defense is in place. Peterson isn't a major control freak, they have worked together before and Miami has alot of the pieces in place.

Not to mention the Dolphins have to make a splash. They are the team for Miami and have been reglected to third if they don't make some noise this offseaon. Heat with LeBron and Wade, Marlins new stadium and got some players. Add Cowher and get Manning and you are set.

Dear Long Suffering Chiefs Fans:

I am very pleased to now officially be in charge of the greatest team with the greatest fish, check that, I mean fans, in the NFL: the Miami Dolphins.

I staked my claim today by firing head coach Tony Soprano, check that, Tony Sparano, showing everyone in South Florida who is boss. I fired him even though he kicked your midwest country bumpkin butts in Arrowhead. Fear Me, this is my universe now.

I will be interviewing all the big names in coaching: Marv Levy, Marty Schottenheimer, Dick Vermeil, Buddy Ryan, Mike Ditka and Jimmy Johnson for this very lucrative position.

I will also be offering non-trade contracts to Marcus Allen and Joe Montana to see if they'll help me bring some credibility to this Cuban Backwater Swamp Hell. I plan to live in Boca, and only touch down in the stadium parking lot via helicopter.

In the meantime, see you in the draft room, boobs. BTW: I left KC with a wheelbarrow full of money. Literally.

Tell Junior Hunt he can sniff my lemony fresh ass. I'm a headliner again baby!

Sincerely,
Carl "Delano" Peterson

Depends. Anyone who takes on that job is looking up at the Patriots and Jets for the next few years at least. If Cowher loves a challenge, then that's it. But if I'm a head coach, I'm waiting for that San Diego job to open up...
