View Full Version : Chiefs Anyone Feel Sorry For Cassel?

The Dawg

I was talking to a buddy today about the Chiefs QB situation and he brought up the point that he felt bad for Cassel. That he had the drive and will to win but just didn't have the tools to get the job done. Basically I just laughed in his face and told him nobody should feel bad for a guy who gets paid as much as Cassel does.

But I extend the question out to you- anybody actually feel bad for Cassel? Seems like a good enough guy and all but....

Hard to feel sorry for him. He's had about as profitable a football career as anyone who was, is, and always will be a backup QB.

I think he's a nice guy, but he's also set us back about 5 years.

If he is who Pioli thinks he is, he will come out next year and have a career year.

It's possible that he steps up now that there is real competition for what he thought was his job.

Sometimes, that transforms players.

Maybe he turns into the quarterback version of Derrick Johnson.

Who knows?

As far as I know, he did not come here and rob anyone at knife point to take his contract money. Everything I've read about the guy indicates he tried his ass off, was the first one at practice and the last one to leave. He tried to be a good teammate. Sounds like he did his best to try to earn that big check.

He just didn't have the necessary talent.

So why all the irrational hatred by a bunch of little punks who will never amount to a pile of turds?

I just don't get it. If anybody, save all the vitriol for the guy who overestimated his ability and gave Cassell the big contract.

BossChief
12-30-2011, 09:39 PM
I didnt say I thought he could do it.

I think he has played his best football already and will always be what he has shown to be, a backup quality player.

Arm strength is a knock, but not really a fatal flaw. His lacking instincts, accuracy, decision making and poise are even worse.

Don't ever feel sorry for rich people. Money is the leading stressor in everyone's life. It causes divorce, sleepless nights, excessive drinking worrying about paying for your kids college. Rich people don't have that stress. No matter what happens to them they can ease their grief with 50 thousand dollar vaca's doing what never they want.

Feel sorry for Matt? No way in hell.

The only time I ever felt a slight care for his feelings was during the SD game when he couldn't put his hat on and looked right at the camera. Reality is he gets paid damn well and had his chance and THEN some.

I don't feel sorry for him. Yeah he seems like a great competitor and teammate, but its time for the Chiefs to feel sorry for us, not for us to feel sorry for them.

I doubt that will ever happen. Bill Bellacheck knows better than to take back a second rate QB that failed to help the Chiefs win in the playoffs last year. Even if Tom Brady's career ended after next year, Bill would probably pay the Indianapolis Colts $10 million of his own money for their top draft pick (assuming it's Andrew Luck or RGIII) so he could keep getting more chances to return to the Superbowl.

JCharles1981
12-31-2011, 03:24 AM
I would rather feel 10 times more sorry for Rich Gannon for not winning a Superbowl because of the bastard defense of the Bucs than take pity on a QB that's not even worth 1/4 of the money that Hunt entitled him to.

Feel sorry for him? No.
I wish I could get paid 1000 times my worth to suck at my job. What's that Matt? You just cashed another 400,000 check for not playing?
Cool. I feel sorry for you man. You should go to your private fucking island and drive around in your Mercedes convertible to console yourself.

I was thinking I would feel sorry for the humiliating display his mother must put on every time he trys to park his car on their street when he "goes home." Here are some famous Mom Cassel quotes:

You don't live here!
You aren't my son!
You drive like a girl!
You park like a girl!
You throw like a girl!
You shit your pants like a baby!!
I'd have benched you girlie ass!!
Get the F*** outta here!
911....he's back!!!
You know what kid, whom ever you are, nobody likes you!
Sailors and dogs are fine on the grass - YOU GET THE F**** OFF THE GRASS BOY!!!

Then I thought....no, F*** him, he's an asshole!

I dont feel sorry for Cassel... He did what any of us would of done if we have an ounce of his talent.

Regardless of what he does on the field. He never has to work again. He can pull a Grbac and just drift off into retirement and enjoy a life most of us will never be able to live.

So no I dont feel sorry for him. He is living a life we could only dream of living...

How about, both regimes did poorly....

It is all about who you keep, who you let walk, who you sign in FA, and who you draft... and whether or not the defensive scheme comes from the coach's analysis of the talent on the roster, or the GM's fetish to be just like his idol...
