82 percent is a good conversion rate for a kicker.

No two ways about it.

not really, 83 percent puts him at the 20th best kicker in the league. With that miss right now hes in the bottom quartile.

You're looking at THIS YEAR. I'm talking about for his entire career.

Adam Vinatieri is going to the HOF and he is an 83 percent kicker lifetime.

Morten Andersen was an 80 percent kicker lifetime.

Succop's FG percentage is outstanding.

ModSocks

Meh. He's average. But 15 million over 5 years is far from "huge Jack". There are backups in the NFL that make more than that.

You keep talking about vinatieri like anybody cares. He's not going to the hof because he's 83 percent, he's going because he won three superbowls.

And if you're taking about career fg percent theres still 12 kickers active in the league that have better than him. career percentage means nothing. Owned

Hammock Parties

career percentage means nothing. Owned

What? Kickers are defined by the percentage of kicks they make.

You can find lots of examples of great, great kickers who went to multiple Pro Bowls with career averages around 80.

That's why this extension was a good one. Succop has proved he is a good kicker.

Now we have resorted to picking on a very good FG kicker because our team sucked so bad?

Our O Line and offense is so bad, they are the culprit

You have to be an A-class a**hole to not think that Ryan Succop is the best kicker the Chiefs have had since Nick Lowery. Not even Lawrence Tynes or Pete Stoyanovich come close.

This has to be the dumbest post of all time. With the needs this team has...to waste a mid round draft pick on a kicker when we have a perfectly good one on the roster....

This ranks right up there with that post about airplanes breaking apart in mid-air.

L.A. Chieffan

All succup had to do was not get blocked not once but TWICE last week and we'd be in the playoffs.

Hootie
01-01-2012, 07:59 PM
in the year of the kicker (this year), he's a lower tier kicker...

I don't think he's great at all, middle of the road at best.

I have no faith in him, but I have faith in very few kickers so...

If your gonna make your kicker one of the highest paid at his position in the league he might as well be worth it.

FWIW on the onside kick you keep going on about as he was approaching the kick a Battle came around behind him and clipped his foot before he kicked the ball.

Ryan Succophttp://www.kcchiefs.com/assets/nflimg/icon-article-link.gif (http://www.kcchiefs.com/team/roster/ryan-succop/b678eb3b-034a-4b87-b68f-74277cdb345a/) was hearing it pretty good in the Chiefs locker room for his failed onside kick achieving a No. 1 ranking on SportsCenter’s Not So Top-10 list.
“Nobody knows what happened,” Succop began explaining just as Jackie Battlehttp://www.kcchiefs.com/assets/nflimg/icon-article-link.gif (http://www.kcchiefs.com/team/roster/jackie-battle/aefc79fc-5ed2-4d6b-90ff-0f735a09b8d6/) happened to walk by.
Battle heard what Succop was talking about, paused, and yelled back, “I’m sorry Ryan!”
Succop wouldn’t name names, but said there was more to the three-yard kick than simply missing the football.
“I’m not saying names, but I will say that right before I hit the ball my foot got clipped and that made it very difficult to kick the ball,” Succop said.
Sure enough, replay shows Battle looping behind Succop’s approach to the football.

Some of you must be some miserable mother-f***ers to live with. Ryan damn near set a franchise record in consecutive FG's before the minor setback at the end of the season. He earned the raise, just like DJ, Hali, Flowers, and hopefully Carr and Bowe will get from us soon.

You hang on to those that meet or exceed expectations, and were no where near near our salary cap

LA Chieffan still trolling people I see. I wonder which will happen first:

a) People will finally see this is all a schtick and finally stop falling for it, or
