I just bought a 10 pack of Starbucks French Roast and a 10 pack of Tazo Black Tea for $10 each at the grocery store. I thought to myself that maybe online was cheaper. I checked Amazon and they were $14.39 for the tea and $18.55 for the coffee.

Is there a site that specializes in selling these, or do you have any recommendations on good brands you can buy online that cost less? Thanks.

I found this on Amazon, best I've found so far. $0.60 per cup. Not too bad.

Be careful with that. You'll build up an immunity to caffeine and it will no longer work. Not for appetite and not for wakefulness.

I drink 3-4 Bing energy drinks and 10-12 shots of espresso a day and it does virtually nothing for me except make me want more caffeine.

Even then, the flavor can be altered by altering the roast.

Instead, they're altering the volume of coffee per cup.

Just like WV said, Tully's Kona is only 10% Kona. The rest of it is cheap standard blend to fill up space.

Convenience is easy, just mix up some Folgers.

Are you implying that the roast is never varied among different brands of K-Cups? I find that hard to believe.

Obviously it is. That's why WV pointed out two different brands of Kona cups. Guess which one is cheaper?

The simple truth of the matter is that different roasts have different flavor qualities. There'd be no need for a disclaimer that "mild, bold, and extra bold" indicate the amount of coffee in the cup. Unless you're blending it with cheap coffee to increase volume.

That's just plain watering it down.

Do you cut your coke with aspirin too? ;)

are these k-cups worth the investment? It looks like a k-cup maker costs at least $150 and the cups look kinda expensive too. Is it actually worth it? I'm too lazy to clean my coffee maker and it has that aftertaste now but I broke the carafe anyways. I've been using a little plastic thing that you put the filter and coffee in and then pour hot water over it, it's actually a better cup of joe than mr. coffee. I might get a french press now, but I am curious about these k-cups.

Depends on what you're looking for. It's not the cheapest cup of coffee for sure.

What it does provide is convenience and variety.

Rarely do my wife and I drink more than 1 cup in a sitting so its a perfect solution. And if we don't want the same thing, not a problem.

I had a Bunn once, and the descaling sucked, so I am very hesitant to trust another fancy machine with my limey water.

Ive had Bunns for the last 12 years. and I have to use Bunn filters because they are the only filters that can keep the grinds from over flowing in that machine. 3 minute pot of coffee, you cant beat it. and I have no problem with my water.

I use this (http://www.eightoclock.com/) coffee. and grind them beans fresh.

No joke. I've got a coffee maker that cost $8 at Walmart six years ago. The pot is nice and brown now; just about broken in. And filters cost...what? Three bucks for half a million?

Keurigs are nice when you want a cup of coffee, but not a whole pot. If I just want one cup, I usually don't make the effort to brew 1/4 of a pot or something. Also, if I make a whole pot, I'll end up drinking WAY too much coffee.

Not worth it. These kind of units started in the airline industry years ago. Keurig marketed them to consumers and they've been a huge marketing success.

Buy a quality drip coffee maker and use quality coffee and you'll save a bundle over this trend.

I agree. I'm shocked at how much some people spend on coffee. I love good coffee, and drink it nearly every day. But I never ever spend more than $10 every month or two(drip maker/coffee/filters). I work with idiots that get coffee at Starbucks every single day. At $3-5 a pop, that's well over $100/month on coffee. Insane.
