we're about 2/3rds of the way through the first round now. Vote if you love your country and/or TV.

My thoughts:

#1 - Cheers. This show will be in the finals, and deserves to be. Easy #1, or my name's not Huckleberry.

#2 - King of Queens. Seems okay. I'm not wild about it, but it's reasonably funny.

#3 - McHale's Navy. I vaguely remember that it was kind of funny. Or maybe it was that show with the submarine. Who knows?

Didn't make the cut.

#4a - Lucky Louie. I have no idea what this is.

#4b - I'm Alan Partridge. I have no idea what this is.

King of Queens was awesome pre-pregnancy. Post-pregnancy Leah Remini was a spitten image of my ex-wife. I couldn't bear to watch. Neither could anybody else.

Cheers and KoQ

Cheers lost one of its two main characters and the entire main core story line. It countered this by turning Fraiser, Cliff, and Woody into three of the most unique characters TV has had.

To me this, Seinfeld, and Arrested Development are my three top sitcoms. Add Lost and X-Files dramas and there is my top 5, not that anybody asked.

I wasn't as high on Cheers as a lot of people, but it was a high quality show. I loved Frazier on Cheers, but never really cared for his spin-off. Go figure.

King of Queens is my favorite in this heat. Kevin James frequently makes me laugh out loud and Jerry Stiller is awesome.

None of the others deserve a vote as far as I'm concerned.

I loved Cheers, loved Fraiser the character, and love that type of humor. Yet I also never really got into Fraiser.

I only voted for Cheers, but I have a love-hate relationship with that show. Both of the lead women were nails-on-chalkboard for significant periods of the show. Everything else about the show was fantastic, but Diane and Rebecca each cause me to pass on the re-runs.

Cheers and I threw McHales Navy a bone mainly because of Borgnine and Conway.

Cheers will lap this field. King of Queens had some funny episodes. They had a good cast.

It's going to be tough to top Cheers.

Cheers: Coach Vs. Woody

Who ya got?

That's hard to say, I like them both but have to say Coach.

This is my favorite Coach scene (Woody never had anything that came close):

Really, you have shows on this list that lasted 12 and 13 episodes before cancellation?

Cheers: Coach Vs. Woody

Who ya got?

Thats tough. As far as humor I go with Woody, because I saw a lot more of Coach's jokes coming than Woody.

I will say that my favorite coach joke was when he misunderstood when Diane was asking him if Carla's boyfriend(with the secret weak heart) could have sex.

Sam Malone: Lefty had a heart problem.
Ernie 'Coach' Pantusso: That's it. Hank has the same thing. I mean, the least bit of excitement - wham, bam, he's curtains.
Diane Chambers: Coach, how about sex?
Ernie 'Coach' Pantusso: Diane, please! I thought you were Sam's girl?
Diane Chambers: Coach, I'm talking about Hank.
Ernie 'Coach' Pantusso: Hank is seeing Carla.
Ernie 'Coach' Pantusso: [to Sam] Are you listening to this?

Cheers squeaked into Round 2 with less than 94 percent of the vote, along with King of Queens and McHale's Navy.

And I prefer Woody by a mile over Coach. Coach was fine, but Woody was inspired.

Best heat so far. McHales Navy was a great show, and was very politically incorrect. Nips.

Never cared for Cheers, but it's one of the all-time greats.
Still...I voted for KOQ.

This was an easy one. Cheers was great, King of Queens was really good, and McHales Navy was also funny. Never heard of the other two.

KOQ is a heavy-handed modern version of The Honeymooners.

Agreed though maybe not quite as heavy-handed as this modern day version...

Family Guy doing classic Honeymooner's "one of these days...right to the moon". Except at the end of it Ralph drops Alice with a right cross to the jaw.

I'll have to watch that later. Don't think I've seen that ep.

Very short drop, 16 seconds or so. But funny.
