Here, you give out advice on which headset to buy, hot deals on headsets, or ask any questions about gaming headsets.

Tritton's ax 180s.
I love them! Had them for around a year and still love the sound the produce. They are cheap ($70) compared to Tritton's better models (720s and 720 pros). They can be used on all systems (PS3,PC,XBOX) and they are very easy to set up.
I strongly recommend them if you don't have enough dough for Tritton's 720 models.

I got the same ones. I actually have 3 headsets. those, The px21, and TB ear force x12 for xbox. I thought I lost the Tritton ax 180s so I went and bought the TB px21 but it wouldn't work with the xbox's mic and so I went and bought the earforce x12 for the xbox then found the Tritton headset a month later.

Couple of my friends own the TurtleBeach PX11's for PS3.
They said they are comparable to the Tritton 180s.
They love the "can hear yourself talk" feature. So you know what you sound like.
It's a toss up between the 180s and the TB px11s if you ask me. Both are very good headsets.

http://www.techshout.com/img/sony-ps3-wireless-bluetooth-headset.jpg

$100.00 made by sony for the PS3. Best part is that it is bluetooth. Never had any of the more expensive sets, but for the price and ease of use, I am pretty happy with these. They supposedly will work with your computer also.

Any recommendations for surround sound headsets? Ideally compatible with 360/PS3/PC/whatevs. Was looking at the Turtle Beach XP500 or PX5 but I live in an apartment building and I've heard wireless interference can be a bitch.

Not sure what this had to do with anything so, okay?

Surround headsets... hmm... The Tritton ax 720s have Dolby Digital Surround Sound and it sounds fantastic.

and Guru. By non gaming headsets do you mean like "over the ear" music headsets?

These are so money for working out. They don't block off your ear canal like earbuds, they sound FANTASTIC, and they absolutely will not come out unless you yank on them with the force of 10000 men. They also don't completely block out ambient noise, which is useful for not getting run over while you run.

Try them now and thank me later.

Well if you are shooting for very high quality over the ear headphones. I would probably go with "Beats by Dre". They look stylish, Amazing quality, and comfortable.
But the solos do break kinda easy.

There's a silicone piece that fits inside the outer rim of your ear, it's not even noticeable.

Tried those and didn't like them at all, they flopped around a lot. The Bose ones fit really snug.

Astro A40's and Tritton AX Pro's aren't wireless and they both are compatible with the PS3, XBOX, and PC.

I have Astro A40's and I ****ing love them. Have had them for three years and have had zero problems with them. They are comfortable as hell and they work extremely well for pinpointing enemies in any game.

They aren't "true" surround sound though because they only have two speakers, they are awesome for pinpointing enemies in front, behind, and to the left and right of you, but they can't tell you if they are above or below you (you can still hear when people are above you, but you don't know instantly that they are above you because the headset can only tell you front, back, left, and right)

The Tritton AX Pro's actually have "true" surround sound because they have 8 speakers but I have heard the mic breaks easily, they feel pretty heavy on your head, and aren't very comfortable. They are $100 cheaper than the A40's though.

The bass is fucking amazing.

I hate to sound like a Bose salesman (I actually think most of their stuff is gimmicky and overpriced), but I spent years searching for the perfect workout earbuds and these are them.

My only complaint is that the cord is a couple inches longer than I would like, and sometimes it can get tangled up in free weights if you don't pay attention.

I bought the AX Pro's back in November.....way too many wires....and maybe I'm getting old....but the bass was overkill!

The midrange and highs were sub-par to say the least.

Took them back and bought the new Sony PS3 wireless. Have to say...for 90 bucks, I'm extremely happy with them (and love the wireless floor between my couch and tv). Very nice combo of lows and highs. The mic sounds good too.

I will say - I tried the Turtle beach ones that were being demo'd at best buy.....and they were pretty damn good (but I cant justify 250 bucks on a headset).

Cant speak for the TB brand but I have found my most comfortable pair ever. Corsair Vengence 1300s . They also make some higher sets in the line with more features if desired. They are insanely comfortable. I game for long sessions sometimes and I don't get headset fatigue one bit, and many hours of lifetime use haven't affected them. Not to mention incredible sound quality and superior dampening. I'm in love.

I saw those on Newegg a while ago but wasn't sure what to think about them. I don't know how a company that started with making RAM and storage moves on to making headsets. The price is freaking awesome, though, compared to the $300 the nice headsets cost.

I don't like the idea of a gaming-only headset that connects to the 360 or PS3 via USB.

I've got a set of wireless Sennheisers that actually sit on an output from my receiver, so I can use them for gaming as well as watching TV and listening to music.

I bought some Turtle Beaches a while back for like $80. there were great, but cheaply made. the ear piece broke completely off.

though, I got them to play BF3, I could never find anyone to talk to ..I could hear people on my squad etc, but I don't think anyone ever heard me.

but, the sound of them was great. I'll probalby score another pair one day, but might not spend as much money.
