I debated on whether or not I should post this but oh well, here goes.

I know I like to joke around a lot, it's mainly because I think many people on here are cool and we shouldn't take things on the internet so seriously. But on a serious note my daughter goes into heart surgery tomorrow morning and I'm kinda stressing out. The type of procedure is highly successfull and I shouldn't really be worried but hey, it's my little girl so wadda gonna do?

She's going to be fine. Before you know it, the surgery will pass over your heads like an errant Matt Cassel checkdown to Leonard Pope on 3rd and 14 that sails out of his reach and lands in the 3rd row seats all because Matt felt a little bit of pressure after having 5 seconds in the pocket to look around.

But seriously, good thoughts and prayers your daughter's way.

You have to wade thru the bullshit sometimes but there's some very good peeps on CP. There will be sincere good vibes I'm 100% certain of that. Anytime your little girl goes into something that serious you would be stupid not to worry at least a little.

Don't have kids yet but I'd run through a brick wall and as for seconds for any of my family.

On the way.

We had a boy on my son's junior high basketball team that needed to have a proceedure done on his heart just last Tuesday. The boys heart would start beating fast... up to nearly 300 beats per minute... and would beat at that rate for up to 3 hours. They tried meds, but that didn't work. Anyway, he had the 4 hour proceedure done last Tuesday, and was back practicing basketball on Wednesday.

Amazing what they can do with the heart now days.

She will be fine L.A. Chieffan.

P.S. - Cassel ain't all that!

That sounds very similar to what my daughter has, its called Wolff–Parkinson–White syndrome. She'll be sitting prefectly at rest and all the sudden her heart rate will jump into the high 200s like she just got a shot of pure adrenaline. Then almost as suddenly, sometimes 10 minutes, sometimes an hour it will go back down to normal. Very difficult to diagnose and many frustrating trips to the doctors office.

Your family and your little girl are in my families prayers. Stay strong. I know it is much easier to say than do in these situations, but she will see how strong you are.

Best wishes from all here.

Just went through a heart transplant with a friend - their 14yr old son. It was literally down to hours when the heart arrived. The transplant was delayed initially by an infection that needed to be treated before surgery and then by very bad winter blizzard. It has been a month and all is well.

Once again, best wishes and prayers.

Anytime a loved one goes in for surgery, no matter how significant, the blood pressure rises along with a host of concerns, Mr. L.A.Chieffan. It's totally normal.

However, you have my absolute best wishes for a successful outcome which, I'm sure, is exactly what will occur.

Good luck man. I'm sure everything will be fine. She's got too many experiences ahead of her for any thing bad right now. My dad undergoes open heart Monday at 5:30 am and he's 84 but in otherwise good health or they wouldn't be doing the surgery. I'm driving to Arkansas Sunday to be with him before he goes in. I'm really worried though, I mean he is 84.
