I went with my wife last Saturday afternoon, the day after it opened. I'd call it nice and modern, but I didn't see anything that really makes it different from Argosy or Harrah's.

The minimum bets for all table games was $10, which is a little high for my taste. The have a steakhouse there with steaks that cost $35 and $40, also a little more expensive than what I am willing to spend.

But, for those of us that live on the Kansas side, it's best feature is location, location, location.

I think I'm gonna check it out tonight.

I was there last Monday night for the soft openings and on Friday for the Grand Opening.

I know Monday night they had $5 FWIW, but I bet they raised it to $10 on the Opening Weekend just for the additional revenue. I am sure the strategy was that people that went last weekend were going to bet whether it was $5 or $10 minimum bets.

As for the Casino itself, I am biased as I was the design structural engineer, but it is much closer to my house than any others so I am more apt to go there than any others in town.

How does the dining stack up with those north of the river?

Never have gone North and ate.

As far as HWC, if you like a variety of styles of beer, then you need to go into the mezzanine sports bar (up the escalator) as they have a much better selection than on the main level.

Do they have their own microbrew? That's one of the reasons I like Ameristar, for the beer they make in their own place. Tasty stuff.

Not a beer drinker, but thanks for the tip.

I'm sure they make some mean Shirley Temples, too. :D

I don't think they make their own. All that is on main level is the standard domestics and boulevard Wheat though. (I think).

If you park in the garage the 3rd level is the casino floor by the way.

39 of us were at Legends last night eating at Backfire BBQ (not my choice) and about half wandered over. I heard the atmosphere was kind of off (depressing mood?) and lots of WT and tweakers running around.

usual mixture of low lifes, deadbeat dads and 70 year old chain smoking grandmas, typical for any Midwestern casino.

Or Casino's in general. The ones down here are just like it.

I just went to Veija's Casino down here for the first time a few nights ago. Fuck that place.

Never going back.

WORST Buffet i've ever had. It was on par with the food we were served when I was homeless.

I never had a bad Cadillac Margarita until i had one at Veijas. Never had a bad "Adios Motherfucker" Until i had one at Veijas.

What a fucking dumpster that place is.

I will never go to any of the casinos!
Not because I think that gambling is evil, but because of the links between the casinos and organized crime! The mafia presence in KC is much more significant than most people think!

I thought it was a nice touch them having the Red Carpet like movies stars get when you walk in, but it turns out there was a knife fight over a Cabelas Giftcard.

Went the other night with my GF. Was playing a $1 machine and won $700 at one point. Then I entered the "high limits" area and gave it all back. I hate casinos

I can't understand why people get so excited about giving their money away to criminals! You can never come out ahead at a casino! Mathematically you will always lose! I guess casinos only appeal to irrational and superstitious people.

Plus you are giving your money away to a dangerous group of people!

I have won thousands of dollars at the casino. If you are smart, you can win.
