I'm so sick of TV. Does anyone have any good movie suggestions? Something epic with good cinematography would be awesome.

You know, I saw this movie not long ago that wasn't Outlaw Josie Wales. It was this movie about how there was a big planet that was going to crash into our planet. It wasn't bad. I don't think it was very successful at the box office, or anything. But it was very well directed, photographed, and acted.

1) The Quiet Man is a solid and fun movie with a great score and beautiful back drop. Plus we owe Ford's Calvary Trilogy to this movie in part.
2)We Were Soldiers is one of the more accurate Vietnam based movies. I thought the score was very well done as well.
3)While Platoon certainly doesn't fit into the accurate mold of WWS, I enjoy it.
4)If you life Michael Mann films you should check out Last of the Mohicans. Even if you don't you should still check it out.
5)Obviously we agree on The Deer Hunter as well as
6)Ben Hur
7)Part of the afore mentioned Calvary Trilogy, Fort Apache stars John Wayne, Henry Fonda and an adolescent Shirley Temple. Great film.
8)Yes, Harvey is a Jimmy Stewart movie.
9)I like The Patriot. I enjoy the era and history it is set in.
10)Se7en is just a bad ass flick. Dark and nasty.

Black Hawk Down haven't seen IMO one of the best modern day war films.

Saving Private Ryan great See above.

Heat cool Very.

Forest Gump funny Agreed, but I think it is so much more than just a funny movie.

A Bridge Too Far haven't seen One of the classic war films.

The Searchers great Nothing more to say here. One of my favorite Duke films.

Gettysburg haven't seen If you enjoy history you have to see this.

Spartacus great Classic.

Patton amazing See above last two.

Not so epic -
Lucky # Sle7en meh Perhaps nothing special in the art of film making, but very entertaining.

The Suicide Kings haven't seen Christopher Walken at his best. The ending is great IMNSHO

The Maltese Falcon great The essence of film noir.

Casablanca amazing Top 3 best movie of all time.

Open Range haven't seen If you like westerns, this is a good one. Great gunfight at the end. And even Costner does a pretty good job standing side by side with Duvall.

Road To Perdition great The scene in the basement of the church between Hanks and Newman is a classic.
