This poll will decide eventually who is the greatest SNL cast member. To qualify the player must have either been a not ready for primetime player, featured player more than three seasons or on the evening news. There were 95 members that fit this criteria. The poll may take awhile to get up as it will be quite long for the first round. Choose 10.

Toughest one yet, a lot of these people occupy the same air imo.

A lot of really goods, no greats... but based on longevity, memorable characters & success after the show, its gotta be Sandler.

My favorite here is Martin Short. You just never knew where the guy was going, plus he was an SCTV alum. I think he has become kind of a charicature of his career of late which probably hurts him here. Was one of the biggest comedy movie start out there for awhile.

I think Sandler is going to be overrated here because of the big star he has become since. Much of the time on the show he was relegated to doing bit characters on weekend update and overshadowed by the other stars of the time, of whom there were plenty.

The strongest heat yet. My favorite is Maya Rudolph, my 2nd favorite lady behind Gilda. She's probably the most versatile cast member ever.

The Lunch Lady and Hanukkah songs were hilarious. More memorable than most of the other best moments by the competitors in this round.

IM a big fan of Wiig, Sandler, Samberg and Sudeikis.


Charles Rocket actually died not too long ago, but nobody remembers him. He played Bruce Willis brother once on an old episode of Moonlighting.

He was also the bad guy on dumb and dumber. He was on the cast that replaced the original and there were big problems with a female producer taking over that the old guard rejected. He and she and pretty much the whole cast were fired when he dropped an f bomb on the air during a 'who shot JR' sketch. I don't remember him either on the show but he was said to be the producers golden boy and was in the most sketches that year along with Piscopo and Murphey who were the only ones to avoid a mass firing. Wasn't much reason to watch the show that year.

1. Martin Short. The synchronized swimmer, the weird guy with the unicorn hair, the WWII soldier who didn't know how to use stairs...Short was funny.
2. David Spade. Snide humor is pretty darn funny.
3. Rob Schneider. I'm embarrassed to say I think he's funny.
4. Kristen Wiig. Funny for a girl.
5. Adam Sandler. Better in movies than on SNL.
6. Andy Samberg. For the longest time I thought they were introducing him as Andy Sandler and I assumed has was Adam's kid brother or something.
7. Chris Rock. He was on SNL? Eh, I'll throw him a vote.
8. Horatio Sanz. Face it. Fat guys are funny.
9. Kenan Thompson. Kind of fat, therefore kind of funny.
10. Jason Sudeikis. Kind of overrated but makes the list.
