Veteran linebacker James Farrior has been cut by the Pittsburgh Steelers, his agent, Ralph Cindrich, said Friday on his Twitter page.

"James Farrior has been a rock for the Steelers but the Turk takes no prisoners-he's gone" Cindrich said in a Twitter post.

Earlier this week, the Steelers informed wide receiver Hines Ward and defensive end Aaron Smith that they would be released, and guard Chris Kemoeatu was cut, according to multiple reports.

Farrior, a 15-year veteran, has spent the past 10 seasons with the Steelers and five more with the New York Jets.

He was credited last season with 78 tackles, including two sacks, in 14 games. That marked a sharp decline from the 109 tackles Farrior recorded the previous season, with six sacks.

Farrior, 37, has 1,415 tackles, including 35½ sacks, 11 fumble recoveries and 11 interceptions in his career.

Steelers are completely hosed with the cap. Teams are going to raid them for the players Pitt can't afford (see: Mike Wallace).

And no, I don't want Farrior near this team.

I've always wanted my own Cutting Farrior. I wonder if Steeler would be interested in loaning his to me?

I just keep seeing Kendrel Bell.

Farrior is a good player, but old, lets not make this a place for him to collect his last paycheck.
