Why does Sean Payton have to wear a number?

Okie_Apparition

He may not want to wear #18 outside of Indy
It'd be kinda classy

There has to be SOME QB out there who can make that number work as a Chiefs QB

I bet he wears 18. If Emmit says it is ok, he can wear the digits.

I seriously doubt Emmit would have a problem with a fucking ICON wearing his number.

Lenny offered his retired number to Montana, and he might do the same for Manning. Manning's college number was 16. Just saying.

Can't believe it took the Chiefs that long to retire 18, after shit stains like Grbac and Samie Parker wiped their asses with it.

I'm sure the Jets will let him wear #18.

Chiefs only retire numbers after a player goes into The Pro Fooball Hall Of Fame. Only exceptions...Abner Haynes (Great AFL Star)...Stone Johnson and Mack Lee Hill (both died after being injured in games).

Peyton's dad, Archie, wore number 8, he wore #14 in High School, #16 in College at Tennessee... so... probably none of those. LOL

Don't forget Joe Delaney, no one has worn the number 37 since his death, and it is enshrined in the Ring of Fame at Arrowhead.

However...wearing #8 would indeed be a cool little nod to his father, wherever he lands.

#14 in high school
#16 in college
#18 in Indy

Is Deron Cherry's jersey retired yet?

The name not the number...The Ring of Fame uses uniform numbers for reference. And yes no one has worn 37 since Joe, but it is not retired. #78 was reissued after Bobby Bell...so was #63 Willie Lanier...So was #86 BuckBuchanan...#18 Emmitt Thomas. All those numbers only were retired after induction into the Pro Football Hall O Fame.

Better up that to 51.

I'm thinking 7 is a GOOD number.

Poop on a stick
Peyton was SBMVP of SB 41

But he lost SB 44
That's the opposite of how the Chiefs did it
BUt Cassel still sucks

Number 9. The Beatles song is running through my head, with its drone. Everyone, keep chanting: Peyton Manning. Peyton Manning..... Ad nauseum.

The old gypsy curse: May you get what you want.

Signing Peyton Manning to this franchise, sets it back 3 years.

Fat Elvis pegged it. Keep chanting. And be thankful when it doesn't happen.
