I like Long Beach State to possibly beat New Mexico and Harvard to beat Vanderbilt. I don't know why, but I always seem to pick Ivy League schools and also usually pick Vanderbilt to lose. A match made in heaven for me on that one.

Belmont is always a scary 13-15 seed aren't they lol

I haven't watched much of Wichita St. at all this year, are they good enough to make some noise? As a 5 seed are they poised to possibly get upset by VCU? Or are they good enough to topple Indiana and maybe even give Kentucky a run for their money? They interest me. I have no clue what to do with them in my bracket.

I like Belmont over the Hoyas, then over SDSU, and you know fate has determined that Belmont will also meet Kansas. Mark it down.

In which case, Kansas should just go home. Don't even show up.

As big a KU fan as I am, I have a strong feeling they could get upset this season. It wouldn't surprise me if it ended up being Belmont.

I wouldn't be that surprised if Belmont made it to the 2nd weekend. Georgetown isn't exactly going to roll over, though, they're the 2nd best BE team.

I see Wichita St. making the S16 but they were unfortunate to be drawn in UK's region.

VCU will not be able to hang with Wichita St. They lost much of their team from last season (mostly three ballers). I expect Wichita St. to give Kentucky all they can handle.

If I am Marquette I am really hoping Iona loses to BYU because Iona can flat out score. Marquette should pull it out but they would have an easier time with BYU.

And you heard it here IF K-state gets by Southern Miss, they beat the Orange. I am not a K-state fan but Syracuse goes on huge scoring droughts while K-state has actually been putting up some points. I agree also with some previous posts that Long Beach St is the proverbial 12 over 5 upset this year.

Dive in and share your opinion. Take the hazing with good humor and you'll be fine. Nobody of any consequence legitimately puts much stock into post count and registration date.

I'd cream my shorts. But I'm not going to hold my breath. Though I'll probably pick it in the bracket just for homer reasons. What the hell, my "fantasy" brackets usually do better than my for real brackets any way.

By the time I am done filling out so many brackets I lose track of which ones are "fantasy" and which ones are real :D

And for the record I am a Kansas fan and I am scared to death of Saint Mary's. I will be picking Saint Mary's against Purdue but I sure won't be rooting for that result.

I think the only real reach I have for their matchups is picking them over 'Cuse, but it's not a huge reach. I mean, eventually, Wisconsin has to do SOMETHING, right?

Nate Silver is back to being right about sports (http://fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/03/13/fivethirtyeight-picks-the-n-c-a-a-bracket/?src=tp):

The worst decision that the tournament committee made? Probably seeding Memphis, whom power ratings have as about the 10th best team in the country, as a No. 8 seed instead. This is one reason that the program likes Missouri rather than Michigan State to emerge out of the West region; Michigan State would be due to draw Memphis in the Round of 32.

Kentucky, Missouri, Florida State, North Carolina

Kentucky over Missouri in a closer than expected game in one semi-final

North Carolina over Florida State in the other because they're better and Flo-rida State's hot steak has to end

North Carolina beats Kentucky in the title game because that's where Kentuckys youth/inexperience finally catches up the them... albeit barely... 84-83.

I loath both teams so I have little doubt they'll make it all the way. Luckily the other team I loath... Dook... will have to lose to Kentucky earlier.

Kansas loses to North Carolina in the Elite 8 in a game that's close for a while but then we shit ourselves... that is if we don't shit ourselves well before that. I'm sure a 15 has beaten a 2 before right?

Yeah, Hampton beat Iowa State about a decade ago.

For all the dumb and/or played out crap that's like a 4 year old throwing pebbles at me -- the 'B' jokes (2006 called...), Kansas can't beat mid-majors, etc -- it would really suck to be the first 1 seed to go down to a 16. As far as this year, I've heard a couple of experts bring up Michigan State, because apparently their opponent can get up and down the court and can score a lot. Yeah, double digit seeds are winning games more often (or at least it seems), but who knows when the next 16 would win... that one could stick a while. "One seeds were 120-0 against 16 seeds until 5 years ago when Kansas lost to Devry..." *shudder*
