Seriously? They'll probably use him correctly.

So who is going to be our fullback next year?

Oh, maybe they'll draft one in the second round?

Don't care - he was an incredible disappointment.

May have been his fault, may not have been - but I still don't give a crap.

That said, he'll probably cornhole us at least once in the next year or 2.

AND he predicted you guys would win the next 5 games after a losing streak. If not for him, you'd be drafting RGIII! :shake:

I thought he did a good job in Baltimore, but he played mediocre here. Can't say I'll miss him, especially if we pick up Tolbert.

Are you saying a downgrade for the Chiefs or Chargers?

Tolbert was a HB not a FB. We now have a legit FB. I think we might even resign Tolbert.

Say hi to another underachiever Gaither for us.

Buck
03-14-2012, 06:28 PM
Gaither didn't really get a fair chance.

Nobody will ever admit to it, but he was cut for committing a false start. That's sorta B.S.

When a player is coming into an intense close game as an injury replacement, they aren't exactly in the same mindset of everyone else. He was probably jumpy.

He proved in SD what he can do. One of his best games was against the pass rush of the Ravens. I'm glad we locked him up. He's still young, only 25. I just hope he doesn't start to suck now that he got paid.

Mike Cox was a better FB.Mine too.

Nobody will ever admit it? I was saying it day 1.

I dont know that he is going to be what he was "supposed" to be, but he will be a cheap, servicable, replacement if he can stay healthy.

Why is everything thinking we'd get another fullback besides Hillis?

It appears that Pioli's preference is for fullbacks who can run the ball, either as a backup RB or as a change of pace guy. McClain has a 1,000 yard season if I remember right, and obviously Hillis has had success running the ball.

I like that approach. I think that having two guys in the backfield who can run the ball makes the defense have to guess more about what's going to happen, especially when you've got a speed merchant like Charles and a big bruiser. They can't just stack the line every time they see Battle in the backfield, or expect a pass every time they see McCluster in the backfield. (Well, I know that McCluster is only used on runs up the middle, but I'm talking theoretically.)

Hillis is only on a one year contract. That may be due to his maturity lapses. That said, I like running fullbacks too. Hillis was on my draft wish list when the effing Donks drafted him.

Once Romeo took over, they gave him the ball more and he basically did nothing. I had a lot of hopes for the guy and he didn't show anything.

https://www.al.com/news/tuscaloosa/2014/11/former_alabama_leron_mcclain_w.html

Former Alabama and NFL player Le'Ron McClain was arrested on synthetic drug trafficking charges Wednesday night, Tuscaloosa police say.

McClain was arrested in downtown Tuscaloosa just two hours after police said he might have fled the state to avoid arrest.

After finding 122 grams of synthetic marijuana, or spice, on McClain during the course of another investigation, the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force told him Wednesday afternoon a warrant was forthcoming.
