It is well documented that he has an anxiety disorder. He also takes medications daily. It's not clear if it's generalized anxiety or social anxiety disorder from what I have heard but I personally believe it's generalized anxiety disorder. Anxiety disorders are very comorbid with other symptoms or disorders such as depression.

And you can see in games some of his symptoms come out. That is why he handles the ball so far away from the basket so much to keep him involved. Anxiety disorders are characterized by exaggerated sense of responsibilty and tendencies to overthink events around them. So if he gets left out of too much action his mind will likely begin to think irrationally leading to not being fully engaged in the game and having moments of depressive symptoms. Thus leading to the appearance that maybe he doesn't always care or is purposely not trying. Also medications for anxiety are designed to "level" you out which also can give the appearance of not being fully engaged in the game.

Very disappointing but they have a deep bench and a great recruiting class next season. They'll be back. Marshall is building a strong program in Wichita.
