Wondering if any of you fellers might know where a guy can go hunt prairie dogs. Looked online and found some guided tours but I'm not interested in paying $150-200 to go on a guided hunt. Preferably somewhere relatively close to Wichita.

/needs to make more redneck or farmer friends

Where you located?

We used to go around Winner, SD and up towards Chamberlain. I don't know anyone that lives out there though.

Hit Bwana up. I think he does his part to keep the population down around his neck of the woods.

Wichita, KSWent to the Black Hills the middle of February and there's a PD town about 2-3 miles long along the interstate. It's been so warm up here I bet we saw a hundred of them.

Isn't that a tourist attraction? I don't think you can walk in there and start picking them off.

Know a rancher in Shannon county South Dakota that will pay you five bucks a head if you can bring him >500 corpses in a single 24 hour period.

If hunters dnt manage population. Then government agencies come in & poison the animals to control the populations. Plus a substantial part of the money spent by a hunter on tags, licenses & ammo goes towards game refuges & the well being of animals.

Most guys around here poison them. Except the people that like them (WTF?) and won't let people kill them. I have a neighbor with a pasture full of them that I'd love you to murder them all, but I think you will probably get in trouble.

South of the Hutchinson Mall in Hutchinson, KS. You'd have to do it by cover of night to avoid getting caught.

I had loads of them on my land until a rancher 40 miles away went and got some with the Bubonic plague and turned them loose on his ranch. It went through two counties wiping them out. i was in the process of building an elevated shooting platform at the time. They are really fun shooting . I bought a .204 Ruger and they really explode with that round but .17's are a lot of fun too.

There bastards. Ask any farmer what they think of them and they will tell you just to kill them. They dig holes & cows break there legs from them. They are varments useless rodents. They cause damage to fields and farm animals so that raises the price of our food. That should be reason to control there population.
