Wow, I hadn't heard that yet. I wonder how that will effect the equipment market in the future. I'm a fan of TaylorMade products, but it's nice to have a selection and competition among companies.

Everything I have is TaylorMade except the Irons. Maybe the purchase will transform the Adams Irons into the Burner Irons I would prefer.

Being a big golf nerd, I can tell you that TaylorMade's purchase of Adams Golf was nothing more than TM eliminating competition.

The so-called "revolutionary technology" offered in the RBZ line? Look at the Adams F11 clubs. The slot technology that Adams implemented works, and it works very well. The RBZ fairway wood has been receiving rave reviews, yet it's very similar to the Adams F11 and F12 models.

The new Adams Super XTD fairway/hybrid clubs have been getting monster reviews recently.
Adams' player irons (CB1, CB2, MB2, even the CB3 sorta) are fantastic irons.
TaylorMade definitely has great products, but I think that they felt threatened by Adams and the recent success they have been gaining with their product releases. Better to squash the competition while it's still small rather than try to compete with them later on.

I imagine that TM will be producing some clubs that seem quite different in the coming years, but I almost guarantee they won't carry the Adams badge. I'm guessing that Adams will be nothing more than a club you will find in a box set or something of that nature.
