View Full Version : Chiefs Dan Skuta visiting Kansas City

Restricted free agent LB Dan Skuta visited in Kansas City with Chiefs personnel, spending time with coaches talking defense and special teams. The 6-2, 248-pounder from Flint, Mich., has played 55 games over three years with Cincinnati. As an RFA, if the Chiefs make the 26-year-old an offer, the Bengals have the right to match that tender. If they do not, there is no compensation for him.

55 games in 3 seasons? does not compute. 16 games per season x 3 seasons=48 games.

Weird - NFL.com has him listed as playing 31 combined games in 2011 - 16 in 2010 and 8 in 2009

IDK how that happens:hmmm:

He may be a great guy, I don't know, but what I highlighted above scream "off the field trouble."

Who the fuck cares?

However, if the Chiefs are going to consider RFAs, then Sammie Lee Hill needs to be on that list.

He was only tendered the original draft comp tender, so he'd only cost the Chiefs a 4th rounder.

Isn't he a 43 DT?

BTW, Hill is a hell of a name for a DT.

The Chiefs scouted him when he first came out, so I'm sure there's some interest there.

I can't imagine the Lions would match, they're pretty loaded in the middle. Then again, they might do it just to piss the Chiefs off (bad blood there).

He seems a little undersized to be a true 2-gap nose, though.

He weighs about 330.

If he does have a size issue, it's height.

He stands nearly 6'5".

Good! He needs to improve the special teams. Special Teams and Defense is going to have to be where we win the field position battle at. I don't have much faith in our offense.

His 'raw' weight is fine, but at that height it's more of a 'lean' weight.

I could be wrong, but he appears to be better suited as an under-tackle or perhaps even a better version of Dorsey as a 5-tech.

I think we could get great use out of him in this scheme, don't get me wrong, but not as an every-down 0.

I know Gordon already does that for us, but it's far more useful to have an every-down guy like that as a starter.

GODdell had all the stats changed to reflect an 18 game season already :)
I know still 1 game short, but closer than what it was!
