So My Daughter Punched A Boy At School

This happened last week. I was going to make a thread about it but forgot, she was nagging me yesterday to start one. This is the same daughter that called 911 in class a while back that you might remember. OK, here's the story:

She's in 11th grade, in Shop class, one of a handful of girls. Maybe six. There is this boy named Eddie. He's a 9th grader and ended up in the same class as her. He's a smallish Hispanic kid. He's been unsuccessfully trying to flirt with her all year, even though he has a tiny little Hispanic girlfriend. My daughter wants nothing to do with him. Says he's a little douchebag.

Last Wednesday she walks in to class and he's hanging out by the door. He grabs her upper right arm and manages to turn her slightly towards him. At that point he leans in with his face, like he's going in for a kiss, his mouth is puckered. She pulls her arm loose and clocks him on the jaw and cheek with a quick rabbit punch without even thinking about it.

The boy is rocked. His head shivers sideways a bit and he stumbles back. She takes her seat. After a few seconds he sits down quietly. He suffers no serious damage. My daughter goes about her day. She's mildly annoyed but just blows it off.

Apparently other boys notice that this kid's face is red and a bit swollen. They ask him throughout the day what happened and he actually tells them that a girl sucker punched him for no reason. They pretty much all laugh at him and tease him about being hit by a girl, especially hard enough to leave a mark like that.

So...next morning in the class some of the boys ask my daughter about it right at the beginning of class. She tells them what happened and the boy is incredibly embarrassed, tries to make something up about how he was just goofing around but it's pretty clear to everyone that it happened exactly as she said it. Now he gets teased for the rest of the day AGAIN because of the circumstances.

Finally he approaches my daughter and tries to apologize about the whole thing. She tells him, "Look. I can beat you up. I'm physically strong enough to do it. If you touch me again I'm going to beat the crap out of you. Never come near me again."

So...he's left her alone since then. Still no call from the Vice Principal's office and they go on Spring Break this Friday.

I live in Northern California. This is an agricultural area. We have a lot of second and third generation Hispanic people here. So when I say smallish Hispanic boy I mean small. Substantially smaller than the boys who come from many generations of people raised here.

In Jr high, my daughter started to fill out, and I mean fill out. The guys in a class kept making comments about her size on a daily basis. Finally,she had a enough when a guy got in her face. It just happened to be one of the linemen on the football team and she coldcocked and laid the dude out on the floor. The teacher had watched all of this and simply asked someone to wake the guy up so they could get on with the class.

She came home scared that she was going to get in real trouble and nothing ever happened.

She could have killed him if she wanted too.... girl wore steel toed combat boots and she never left her feet. She could have kicked his head in. He walked away with only 3 broken fingers and a lump on his head.

This was the first time I ever fell onto the ground laughing in a public place, and still ranks as possibly the funniest thing I've ever seen in my life. There's no way she should have been able to put him on the ground. Cartoon violence in real life.

Oh absolutely. That afternoon I was briefly on CP and logged to go do something. She asked me if I had told you guys about it. When I told her that I hadn't she gave me the sad face. She mentioned it a few times, then asked me yesterday if I was going to make a thread about it.
