Da'Quan Bowers Suffers Torn Achilles Tendon; Surgery Coming Friday

May 10, 2012 - Bad news out of Tampa Bay on Thursday morning. The Buccaneers announced that defensive end Da'Quan Bowers suffered a torn Achilles' tendon in the Bucs offseason program. The injury can take as long as 9-12 months to recover, depending on the severity. Bowers will likely miss a large chunk of the 2012 season, if not all of it.

Surgery plans are still being finalized, according to the team.

This is tough news for Bowers because he fell in the 2011 NFL Draft due to injury concerns after he had his surgically repaired in the offseason. Bowers was once thought of as one the top picks in the 2011 NFL Draft but tumbled all the way down to the 2nd round, where the Bucs selected him with the 51st overall pick.

This is the second notable pass rusher to have suffered an Achilles' injury with Terrell Suggs undergoing surgery earlier this week.

And that's why he fell like a rock.

Players that fall from the 1st deep into the 2nd -- you must avoid them like the plague.

Jimmy Clausen, Da'Quan Bowers... this year, Devon Still.

Who cares he plays for a crap hole organization.

Since 1993.
Team A. 5 post season wins, including 2 trips to the conference championship game. 1 superbowl win.
Team B. Zero post season wins including 2 13-3 records waste.

Now I'll let you guess which one is the Kansas City Chiefs and which one is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. :harumph:

Damn.

That sucks for the kid.

His career will likely never make it to the end of his rookie deal.

Even before this, that was a real possibility due to his other injury concerns.

Yes, yes we know you have Delirium Tremens when it comes to Pile High football, but I didn't know it caused you to tear an achilles. Damn.

There is no Denver player named DT though.
