Even if I was interested in basketball as a sport, the shady refereeing seems like it would turn me off from it.

Boston got significantly outplayed down the stretch by LeBron/Bosh/Wade. I'm unsure how the refs had anything to do with that.

Oh, and the real answer is most definitely boxing.

There are definitely bad calls in the NBA, but very seldom do they effect the outcome. In a series it usually evens out. People always bitch about officiating when it's Miami because everyone hates them. People bitch about every call at Thunder games I go to because they are biased towards the Thunder. Then the conspiracy theories start. People don't want to admit their team lost. Boston got tired and couldn't hit shots. Miami shot more free throws because they were going to the basket. It's that simple.

Agree with all of this. The better team basically always wins a 7 game series. The champion at the end of an NBA season is a deserving champion.

Colin Cowherd actually called this to the tee. After game 6, Doc Rivers was at the podium and straight up told the world that Boston was going to be a hell of a lot more physical in game 7. So nobody should be surprised if Miami gets fouled a lot when they take it to the tin.

Boston played a good series. They actually played a good game 7 up until the final 6 minutes or so. As much as I don't like Miami, or specifically, Lebron James, he caught fire and took the game over. I don't see the conspiracy in this one.

This. There was some shady officiating (the last "foul" that Wade drew was horseshit), but Boston straight up lost that game. When you can't hit anything for an entire quarter, you're going to lose.

You can expect not to get the calls on the road, anyway, in the NBA. That's nothing new. It certainly didn't make much of a difference tonight, though.

Tonight wasn't a good example of why the NBA is corrupt or fixes games...there's wayyyyyyyyy better examples of that.

I think the NBA does a better way of fixing games. They are pretty entertaining. After the way the whole MR Perfect era ended the WWF went down hill.

You don't need to go back that far. Try last year's Green Bay game - two of the most blatant non-holding calls I've ever seen, both of which happened right in front of officials, both of which directly affected the score (blown safety call and 40+ yard pass play that should have been a 10 yard penalty.

And yes, I know we won, but we goddamn sure weren't meant to.

You might want to check out the Seahawks/$tealer$ Super Bowl as well, if you're really fucking naive enough to think this shit doesn't happen at a level higher than that of the Chiefs' existence.

Boston did this to themselves. I hate the Heat but they showed up to win Game 6. Rondo spent have the game throwing the ball into the stands. Pierce wasn't clutch for either of the last two games and the Big 3 were ghosts down the stretch.

I thought Rondo's ally-oop pass that failed horribly was a perfect image of the Boston mentality down the stretch. Surprising a vet group like that would play that way down the stretch. Atleast I have something to root against in the Finals now I guess.

So LeBron fouled out of one game. If you exclude that game, he had 12 fouls, total, over the other 6 games, while averaging something like 43 minutes.

In Game 7 on Saturday, he played 47 minutes and had zero fouls.

I know the stars get the benefit of the doubt in the NBA, but seriously...?

Side note, I don't think the refs were the reason the Heat won the series. Figured I'd get that out there.

There's no doubt that game is fishy and I believe 100% that Super Bowl III was a fixed game.

If they NFL were fixed, which, at times I do wonder, it would be extremely easy to do.

Phantom holding (or allowing blatant holding) call here or there easily takes away important plays. All that it takes is one official.

Millions of people watching on TV know that a call/non-call was blown, yet somehow this knowledge isn't important enough to pass on to the officials. There is no excuse for that now. There should be an official in the booth in direct communication with the clowns on the field at all times who can tell them exactly what happened.

And of course, it will never happen. $$$$$$$

When we play the Donx and St. Manning this year, just assume that they've been spotted a 14 point lead from the start of the game and go from there.

The Derrick Rose Draft lottery

Those are just a few examples...
