Temps have already been above average, and it looks like things are going to be dry. Any big plans for the summer? 5k's? Camping? Vacations?

EDIT: Just to clarify, this is the first day of summer for 2012.

6:09 PM is more night than day, imo. Which means the 21st is the first official day... from where I'm standing.

To get back to the point of the thread...

Time to be by/in the pool, time to see about jogging in the mornings instead of after work (heat and humidity is a bitch), and time for grilling. It's also time for camping and float trips (although a lot of rivers are still too low). Softball, fireworks, etc. I love summer. It's become my favorite season.

Always makes me wonder... At some point, primitive man started forming coherent thoughts and transitioned from being a mindless animal to a more enlightened being aware of his surroundings. So, at some point, Man looked around one summer and thought, "Mmm, good." Then winter came; I wonder if that first primitive-thought Man thought the end of the world was coming.

Some time in the future I predict the earth will leave the "habitable zone" and the world will end.

You listed nearly everything I hate about Summer. I do enjoy grilling, though.

It has been brutal here the past few weeks. Far warmer than usual for this time of the year. Weather man blames it on La Nina. If so, she needs to leave.

Aaaaaw, summer. The time of the year when I'm most concerned with my nutsack. Always stuck to the inside of my leg. Sometimes I leave it there to set a precedent, however I have caved in far too often lately.

The best thing about the summer solstice is the days will start to get shorter and we can see summer die before us like a weed sprayed with Roundup.

Summer sucks.
